Excellent thoughts by a colleague @AttiyaWaris. We really need to rethink the humanitarian crisis in all areas of conflict in our world. This "human inhumanity to humanity" should stop!!

The situation in Eastern Congo remains a HEARTBREAKING PARADOX — a land so rich in beauty and resources yet shackled by cycles of violence, displacement, and human suffering. For decades, the region has been a theater of conflict, where armed groups, political interests, and economic exploitation have conspired to deny millions of Congolese people the peace they so desperately seek. Against this grim backdrop, the EAST AFRICAN SUMMIT in Arusha stands as both a BEACON OF HOPE and a test of regional leadership. Will it be another diplomatic gathering filled with well-crafted statements, or will it mark a turning point where rhetoric is replaced with ACTION?

🙏🏾 Though few in number, our hearts were full as we came together for Sabbath School Bible Study today at Diaspora Prayer Cell, SDA Karengata. The Word reminded us that true worship isn’t about numbers but about hearts united in Christ. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." — Matthew 18:20 May our fellowship continue to grow in faith, love, and devotion. We missed those who couldn’t make it and look forward to worshiping together again soon! Stay blessed and uplifted in His grace.

Graceful and majestic, the giraffe at Olseki Hemingways Mara must have been a sight to behold—gliding effortlessly across the golden savannah, its long neck reaching for the skies, a true symbol of elegance in the wild. Nature’s gentle giant, embodying both strength and serenity in perfect harmony.

LEONARD MAMBO MBOTELA : The Voice That Shaped Generations There are voices that fade with time, and then there are voices that become timeless—etched into the hearts of those who grew up listening, learning, and being inspired. Leonard Mambo Mbotela was not just a broadcaster; he was an institution, a legend, a force of nature whose words carried wisdom, authority, and an unmistakable charm that made the airwaves come alive. For a great part of my life, his voice was a constant companion—whether narrating history, guiding conversations, or delivering the unforgettable “Je, huu ni ungwana?” with a depth that made us reflect. His passion for storytelling, his impeccable command of Swahili, and his ability to captivate an entire nation through the radio made him more than just a media personality; he became a guardian of culture, a teacher, and an inspiration. His broadcasts were more than just words; they were a call to thought, a lesson in dignity, and a reminder of who we are as a people. I owe a part of my love for words, for media, and for the power of voice to him. He taught me that broadcasting is not just about speaking—it is about touching lives, shaping minds, and leaving an impact that outlives the moment. As we celebrate his legacy, I can only say thank you, Leonard Mambo Mbotela, for the years of unwavering dedication, for the inspiration, and for the voice that will forever echo in our memories. You may have left the airwaves, but your spirit will forever resonate. Rest in power, legend.

The CONGO CRISIS in the Kivu region is a heartbreaking human tragedy marked by relentless violence, displacement, and suffering. For decades, innocent civilians have endured armed conflicts, resource exploitation, and humanitarian crises, with hopes for peace repeatedly shattered. It is a crisis of untold pain, where resilience fights against despair, and where urgent global action is needed to end the cycle of devastation.

My speech in today's seminar @uonbi (February 6th,2025) :- Speech by Dr. Kenneth S. Ombongi, the Associate Dean, Research and Postgraduate Studies, University of Nairobi in a Seminar on Retracing and Interrogating the Footsteps of Persian Culture and Civilization on East African Communities. Dignitaries, scholars, guests, and attendees. Ladies and gentlemen, It is a great honor and privilege to stand before you today at this important seminar focused on Retracing and Interrogating the Footsteps of Persian Culture and Civilization on East African Communities. As the Associate Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies at the University of Nairobi, I take immense pride in the role that scholarship plays in uncovering, documenting, and analyzing the diverse cultural interactions that have shaped our history and identity. East Africa’s long and intricate history of cultural exchange is deeply intertwined with Persian influence, dating back centuries to the era of maritime trade along the Indian Ocean. The Swahili coast, stretching from Somalia to Mozambique, has been a dynamic space where Persian traders, scholars, and settlers left lasting imprints on language, architecture, governance, religion, and social structures. The very fabric of Swahili civilization, from its urban designs in Lamu and Zanzibar to linguistic influences in Kiswahili, bears testimony to this rich heritage. This seminar provides an invaluable platform to critically analyze and retrace these historical connections. We must move beyond mere acknowledgment of Persian influence and interrogate its complexities—how these interactions evolved, how they were received by indigenous communities, and what legacy they have left in contemporary East African societies. Such scholarly inquiries are crucial in fostering a deeper understanding of our collective identity as a region that has long been shaped by transcontinental exchanges. Moreover, as researchers and postgraduate scholars, we have the responsibility to document and preserve this shared history through rigorous academic inquiry. I urge all participants to engage in meaningful discussions, challenge existing narratives, and explore new avenues of research that will enrich our knowledge of East Africa’s diverse cultural landscape. I extend my gratitude to the organizers of this seminar for creating a space where intellectual curiosity meets historical reflection. I am confident that the conversations we have today will contribute to a broader understanding of cultural diffusion and historical interconnectedness. With that, I officially welcome you to this seminar and look forward to the insightful discussions ahead. Thank you.
