The grade of the injury (i.e. degree of muscle / tendon tearing) will determine the final timeline but there has been one study looking at these injuries in NBA players. As a whole, players ended up missing on average 16-17 days:

@TheSteinLine There has been a study which has looked at this particular injury in NBA players. The average time missed landed around 16-17 days. Obviously severity, may change that timeline.

This is is the difficult part of meniscus surgery in athletes. Not only does having a tear increase the risk of surrounding cartilage damage, the intervention itself (both repair or trimming) can alter the mechanics of the knee and make it more prone to pain/swelling.

@BontaHill Teams also will look closely at his potential longevity as he nears age 30. His style of play is exciting but what degree of soft tissue wear and tear he has accumulated over the years may give some teams concern.
