Very sadly my beloved father died suddenly on the 27th of December. Dad nurtured and encouraged me to be the person I am. He was a true advocate and made the world a better place. I was very proud to be his daughter.

I often phone GPs about patients. The care and compassion is obvious, and they are always apologetic that they haven't managed to prevent admission. Needless to say the apologies are completely unnecessary. GPs are so skilled in admission prevention.

Breastfeeding has been very healing for me with my third child. Very difficult with my first two and although not without challenges the third time round, it has taught me acceptance and prioritising rest. It has also brought me closure and new friends.

Oh that has brought tears to my eyes. This is something that GPs are not used to and rarely do, not like in A&E (we do it almost daily). It's terrifying for them. Immediate CPR is one of only two things that can save a life in an arrest. This GP is incredible. As is your mum ❤

Ellie Cannon also implied that you cannot breastfeed with antidepressants. I am quite shocked that a GP would think that. It's not really acceptable for a doctor to be ignorant of the pharmacology of a drug they regularly prescribe.

This week on the road alone has been challenging in a number of ways. But I ❤ knowing that I have enough inner strength to be alone for 10 days. If I can do this I can meet all of the challenges that await me. And soon my children will be with me and I can hold them.

not sure what crazy universe I'm in this week. Hospital dr to mum about to be discharged this am . "You cant have any meds if you are bf because they stay in milk for weeks, pumping and dumping doesnt help. They are stuck there for weeks". Mum just desperate to go home. Aggggh

This sort of terminology js something I find offensive. It is essentially blaming cancer patients for something that is outside their control. Adds insult to injury. We need to put an end to this. Cancer is not a battle it is a disease.

It's not a breast vs formula debate. It is akin to doctors choosing an antibiotic/analgesic/any other drug without being subtly directed to a particular brand (as happens in the states).
