@CrowtherSi @TomHCalver These are very old examples. The majority of beds cut in most hospitals do not reflect those beds types, but were general acute beds- and the loss of that capacity is partly to blame for the issues we have today.

@CrowtherSi @TomHCalver Both those things are being maximised, but the assumption that inpatient beds can be closed because day case/hospital at home can replace them is false (both in logical terms and the facts as seen every day in the real world)

@AliJaneMoore Our hospital doesn't have permits for residents, but in site parking is free after 16:30 and at the weekend, so this alleviates this issue to a large extent.

@jplomas This includes some eminent names that I know and trust, so I'll read this with interest. The college trustees made a decision to set rates for paid roles to below the NHS contractual rate, which made life more difficult for me this year 😔

Dangerous 🤡 behaviour. I've never done this in my career and I don't need to, because there are plenty of tools at our disposal to keep people both alive and asleep. Astonishing, that not only does this happen, but is discussed openly and advocated at a meeting.
