My deepest condolences
With deep sorrow, Brain Cancer Canada announces the passing of Bernardo (Bernie) Scalisi on January 19, 2025 at the age of 37. Bernie, a son, brother, husband, and young father, courageously and remarkably LIVED with brain cancer for 12 years. Bernie’s diagnosis was the impetus for Brain Cancer Canada (formerly Brain Matters) to come into existence. His journey has inspired and continues to help patients and families across Canada in their own brain cancer experience. The depth of this impact will never be fully known. Brain Cancer Canada extends its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to BCC Chair, Angela Scalisi and her family, and expresses its profound gratitude to the neurosurgeons, oncology teams, medical professionals, and caregivers who dedicate their lives to supporting people like Bernie. We will continue, in earnest, to raise and invest funds in brain cancer research. We can, and must, do more for brain cancer patients. #legacy #braincancer #berniestrong @gliomadoc @DrMDCusimano
