Cardiac arrests cannot be prevented. However, a new peer-reviewed study found using melatonin at 100 mg/kg via IP injection for 14 days in rats can prevent injury to vital organs, especially the brain. That converts to 8908 mg for a 70 kg man for 487 days.

Is melatonin an antioxidant or a pro-oxidant? It depends on who's asking the question. If you're a cancer cell, then melatonin is a pro-oxidant for you. If you're a healthy normal cell, then melatonin is an antioxidant for you. Melatonin is just too smart for most people to get.

Melatonin is a "suicide antioxidant" because it doesn't require regeneration after oxidization. Intead, MEL continues to form various metabolites that are potent antioxidants such as AFMK. This metabolite has been shown to also enhance long-term memory in both young & aging mice.

Blue light (440 nm) elevates mitochondrial ATP production in yeast. Electronically excited cytochrome c transfers absorbed excitation energy for ATP synthesis. This is why mitochondria in retina absorb blue light, and without melatonin, blue light causes excess ROS and apoptosis.

2/2 Most antioxidants become prooxidants after reducing free radicals unless they are regenerated or recycled which require energetic resources. Melatonin is different. After interacting with free radicals, it takes on a different forms that continue to scavenge free radicals.

Whereas if you are on a high carb diet, taking ascorbic acid will ensure your NADH is oxidized to NAD+, because the body uses NADH to regenerate AA. Diets & vitamins without REDOX is useless.

#COVID19 Just published results from small Iranian clinical trial on melatonin efficacy for mild to moderate symptoms in COVID19 patients aged 20-65 showed reduced CRP levels, and 82% improvement in recovery rate over controls in 14 days w/6mg melatonin.

A recent-peer-reviewed paper explains just how 'smart' melatonin can be when it comes to being a pro-oxidant to kill cancer cells. Many thanks to authors for including my work on melatonin regulation of prion protein that increases ROS to kill cancer cells.

We should test infected individuals who supplement with high-dose melatonin (1000+ mg) during SARS-CoV-2 infections. Melatonin at high doses (100 mcg/mL water) fed to flies increased maximum life span by 33% compared to controls.

Why did a clinical trial on ascorbic acid for COVID19 produce insignificant results when it is obvious that this molecule is depleted during critical illness? The trial used HDIVC at 12 g vit C/50 ml every 12 h x 7 days. 1 g per hour avg. is acceptable. So what is missing?
