Like a lot of folks out there I’ve been listening to a ton of
@lowtheband
lately and well, I just wanted to share my favorite Mim song. Gets me every time.
Yesterday I graduated from this immersive learning Ux Design program. It was the hardest thing I’ve attempted in my adult life and as my friend Colette might say, I personally can’t wait to have a beverage about it.
Pretty cool that my friends were pelted with rubber bullets and tear gas peacefully standing on the streets in Minneapolis in late May/June but this shit at the capitol is just being allowed to take place.
Tomorrow night at The Parkway Theater we’ll breeze through a light little record called OK Computer which is largely about alienation from one another through technology and automation, which certainly hasn’t gained any relevancy in the 25 years since it’s release.
A kid at the grocery store was asking everyone if they root for the Vikings and after a few of us in the aisle said yes.... his dad goes “and who do we boo for?” Without hesitating the kid exclaims “Russia”. Didn’t see it coming.
Like a lot of people, I got to know Trevor through the mpls scene and working at the Nomad together. He was a top notch man. I was absolutely stunned when I heard the news yesterday. Please help his family out if you can.
Stood in for my dad at my sisters wedding and walked her down the aisle, had to make an impromptu speech and then carried a 350lb guy with a torn acl on a stretcher to an ambulance. Classic Saturday.
8 years ago my nephew died of a rare form of a brain cancer. He was just a kid growing up and it will never make sense to me. I guess this is just a gentle reminder to enjoy every sandwich.
Today I learned that because both industries I work(ed?) in have been eviscerated by covid-19, my entire tuition this fall/winter is covered by state and city grants. Thank you, virus.
After a long day I tried some weed and packed for a work trip to Mexico… 2:1 odds I open my suitcase when I arrive and it’s just loose leaf Kirkland peanut butter filled pretzels.
When I played junior hockey (I was a goalie), the opposing teams used to play “Burning Down The House” when they’d score a goal me and well, that shit still stings when I hear it come on randomly at the Bryant Lake Bowl all these years later.
Has anyone checked on that Jeff guy that looks like Eric Clapton who dedicated his entire life over the last 4-5 years to responding correctly to trump tweets?
Blue Ox is doing a virtual festival, which is cool. I am also pumped that I can't be virtually stuck on stage during a sudden squall protecting gear like last year.
My dad was a kicker. I was a kicker. My dad's best man kicked for the Vikes in the late 70s and early 80s. I like to think I'm an empathatic guy but fuck Dan Bailey.
