My statement is not intended to downplay the role of good (not perfect) study design and the role of the statistician. However, you should remember that medicine is a science for humanity, because the noble goal of medicine is to protect health and cure diseases. So depending on the context, you should choose the appropriate study design.
Please remember that there is no study design is perfect and includes all assumptions without being self-contradictory, there is no statistician has ability to get beyond this. Objective truth is always beyond the reach of all types of study design. Conducting many types of designs will help you understand some parts of the truth, but unfortunately you will never reach the whole truth.
