Hot Take: I actually have almost no desire to ever witness a Super Bowl in person, unless it’s for free/work. Used to be the top of my bucket list. But it’s turned into a gigantic high-class social event. That ain’t my crowd. I’d be happier watching it w/ the boys 10/10 times.
Big Ben represents a generation of Steeler fans. If you’re under the age of 25, you don’t really remember watching a QB besides Ben Roethlisberger play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He represents stability, he represents winning, he represents a city.
I hope this isn’t the end.
I understand Micah Parsons slandering TJ Watt. He's standing united with Myles Garrett. Guys that mostly disappeared after Thanksgiving need to stick together.
The Steelers top two picks in 2014 were on track to be great. Two absolute ass kickers. Ryan Shazier and Stephon Tuitt. Both of them cut down in the middle of their prime. This sucks.
You think the Eagles regret firing Andy Reid? They’ve gone back to the Super Bowl twice and won once with 2 other coaches since. I don’t care if Tomlin will have another job in 5 minutes. Let him. Be my guest.

Pitt’s starting five introduced at the Big East Championship Game to the tune of Hypnotize by The Notorious BIG.
The 7th seeded Panthers beat 10. Cincinnati, 2. Louisville and 6. Marquette before taking down top-seeded Georgetown, 74-65.
This is March.
We hear a lot about how similar the Steelers and Ravens are.
You know the BIG difference?
The Ravens aren’t afraid to evolve.
They’ll fire an OC mid-season. They’ll change their whole offense for a new QB. They’ll make the impact trade/signing. They aren’t stuck in the past.
Aliquippa. The only high school in the WORLD w/ 3 Pro Football HOFers.

Unmatched.
18 years ago today. 2005 AFC Championship Game (1/22/2006)
Steelers 34, Broncos 17
A Ben Roethlisberger masterclass.
275 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, Rush TD, 124.9 rating.
And just 23 years old.
If the Bills go with their white jerseys due to white-out conditions in Buffalo, every Steelers linemen and defensive back should wear white gloves. Gonna be hard for the officials to dictate between glove/jersey grabs with all that snow. Chess, not checkers.
This is how the greatest tie in NFL history ended.
Steelers-Falcons 2002
• Steelers led 34-17 in 4th quarter, then Michael Vick happened…
• blocked FG gave PIT one last play
• Maddox: 28-41, 473 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
• Burress: 9 rec, 253 yds, 2 TD
• Ward: 11 rec, 139 yds, TD
Fox has bumped the A-crew from Bucs @ Steelers. That crew will cover Jets @ Packers. A Steelers team against Tom Brady getting bumped. Another way to illustrate where the Steelers are right now.
Female caller: "I was pregnant with my first child during Super Bowl 43 and my husband loved Mewelde Moore, so he told me if the Steelers win, we are naming him Mewelde...and Mewelde will be 15-years-old next year."
Absolutely legendary.
I’m just glad the Penn Staters are celebrating Kenny Pickett’s struggles at every turn. I know you’ll never see a QB do what Kenny did last year. Have your fun. And while you’re at it, pick another NFL team. Cause you ain’t a Steeler fan. When a dude’s a Steeler, he’s a Steeler.
As rookies:
Aikman: 0-11, 9 TD, 18 INT
Elway: 4-6, 7 TD, 14 INT
Bradshaw: 3-5, 6 TD, 24 INT
P. Manning: 3-13, 26 TD, 28 INT
E. Manning: 1-6, 6 TD, 9 INT
A. Smith: 2-5, 1 TD, 11 INT
Allen: 5-6, 10 TD, 12 INT
Enough w/ the “putting Kenny in now we’ll ruin his career!” narrative.
This TD run from Jaylen Warren is 25 yards longer than the best carry of Najee Harris’ career. The only thing holding
#30
back is the Steelers’ stubbornness to justify drafting a 1st round RB.
Mason Rudolph was not the reason for the loss. Interception was crushing in the red zone, but I thought he stood in there and made some nice throws. And even a few on the move. He played just fine.
If Mike Tomlin “would have another job in 5 seconds” or “teams would move heaven & earth to get him,” then dangle him out there. If he’s that highly *sought after, the Steelers should be able to get 3 firsts in return. It should be a record-setting trade for a head coach.
RIP John Clayton. HOF NFL insider. Pittsburgh guy. Worked until the end. A weekly guest with The PM Team. Took the time to get interviewed by a podcast w/ ~1,000 followers. Total class act in every way, shape and form.
Week 10 2006 (nearly 16 years to the day)
Steelers 38, Saints 31
• PIT was 2-6 entering game
• Roethlisberger was clean (17-28, 264 yards, 3 TD)
• Undrafted RB Willie Parker ran wild (22 att, 213 yards, 2 TD)
• One of Bill Cowher’s last wins in Pittsburgh (final season)
Aliquippa continues to be the most impressive football power I’ve ever seen, at any level. Got like 250 kids in the high school and just spanking every school that comes in their way. Find a school the same size in Ohio, Texas, Florida, etc. — the Quips will send ‘em packing.
This was a huge moment in the game. If Trubisky gives up on the free play the Steelers don’t have the time and yardage to get into field goal range. Very heads up.
