The first domain name I ever sold was a .xyz. It was part of the first 900 domains (almost all .xyz) that I registered in 2022. Hopefully, my first five-figure sale will also be a .xyz :-)
Inspired by the Swetha sales, I have now priced my best .xyz domains, about 300 of them, at mid-four figures to five figures.

It's been a good month. My biggest sale this month has been a .xyz I sold for $4888. Still conflicted on whether to reveal the domain name (a brandable name) at this time but I will in a few weeks. Hoping for even better tidings in July.

In December last year, a buyer offered me $1100 for the domain . I tried to push a hard bargain, aiming for at least $2000. The buyer quit the negotiations and went for . In hindsight, I should have accepted that offer.

In 2022, I purchased about 900 .xyz domains. Almost all my domains were .xyz. Out of these, I sold only two for a total of $2299. I dropped the rest. In 2023, I diversified my portfolio with non .xyz, but still new gTLDs and I sold 10 domains, grossing just over $10,000.

The .pro I sold for $788. It was already in redemption so I had to fork out $80 redemption fee to bring it back to life. I like the speed with which Sedo processes transactions. Got payment within 24 hours.

I have been gradually rebuilding my .xyz portfolio after my 2022 peak when I had 900 and dropped almost all. My current .xyz portfolio stands at 566 domains, registered from dec to date. Out of these, I have sold just one for 4888.

This is how I began the year. Overall, it hasn't been a bad year. Save for August ruining the tempo.
2023 being my second year in domaining saw some activity. I sold 10 domains for a total of just over $10,000. Lowest sale was $250 and highest was $2000. 9/10 sales come via Dan. 1 from Afternic. I sold domains on Dan even where I used Sedo landers!

.XYZ is the most heavily mined namespace after .COM. You will find a relatively good name available in .co .cc .us .org etc but it will definitely be taken in .XYZ!

One of these was my first-ever LTO sale. Lowered the price from $2000 to $1000 and the domain sold within 24 hours. While I'm happy about the sale, I also have a seller's remorse, thinking the domain would still have sold if I kept the price at $2000. Who knows!
If you are not selling, try lowering prices. Even temporarily. I have sold two domains in the past 24 hours after lowering prices for over 1,000 of my domains.

Not giving up on .xyz though. I sold 2 and got a couple of leads. Only that good ones are difficult to find. The namespace is heavily mined. Just like .COM.
Last year I was hand regging 80 to 150 .xyz domains per month for the first 8 months. This year I had a drastic cut to just about 5 to 6 .xyz domains per month.

Learned a new lesson yesterday. If your domain is expiring and you are not planning to renew it, increase the price (a healthy price increase) as you may still sell it during the redemption period.
