@insidetravellab Had a wonderful trip to Sofia with Heidi a couple of years ago. She’d have been seven at the time. Lots to do in the centre and the Kambanite Bells monument just outside the city is a fascinating place to spend an hour or two.

I’m so proud of this little champ. He’s growing into such a sweet, cheerful, caring boy. If we’re being critical, he’s talks a bit too much about football cards, but his newly mastered trampoline somersault makes up for that I think.

Last day of the summer hols and we joined forces with the cousins to take down the Great Train Robbery escape room at @LockedEscape in St Albans. £1.6m in the bag. Nice little earner 💷💷

We fly home today after a transformative two weeks in Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana. It’s been a joy to spend so much time with Heidi. She’s had the widest smile on her face throughout. She even saw her zebra 🦓 @travwriters #familytravel

The last three days were spent in the wildest of remotes. Toasting marshmallows around the evening campfire staring up at the Milky Way, listening to the animals calls in the darkness of night, waking to find fresh hyena tracks outside the tent in the morning ⁦@TravWriters⁩

Day seven. Still no zebras. We did see one painted onto the rocks at Tsodilo Hills, amongst 4,000+ other images left by the San bushmen over the past 24,000 years. But that doesn’t count as far as Heidi’s concerned. Can’t win #Botswana #travelwithkids ⁦@TravWriters⁩

All Heidi wanted was to see a zebra. Just one. But after two game drives and a boat safari we’ve not had a single sighting. She’s inconsolable. I’ve failed her #Botswana #travelwithkids @TravWriters⁩
