@TheScribblerCMB "If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap." - points for identifying this.

@JessicasuAKA @_DrGregHouse_MD One certainly has to wonder what's in there. Excerpts from some 40s/50s/60s classics?

Latest acquisition for @StAndrewsUniLib, in the hope that we'll build up a collection to equal those across the Atlantic! 😉

@74frankfurt I can remember how, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the franchise in London seemed to be staffed entirely by young men of Turkish Cypriot origin. Once I hitch-hiked to Carlisle, and the staff of the local Wimpy gave me a free meal. TBH I didn't even know Wimpy still existed.

@74frankfurt That place-name means "rye field" ("Achadh an t-Seagail" - although I've also heard it as "field with the barn," "Achadh an t-Sabhail," same as Auchentoul in the Highlands).
