I spend 25% of my time doing my taxes. There is no software package capable of handling DeFi and I have yet to encounter an accounting firm that understands what we do. You give this data to 30 accounting firms you would get 30 different tax bills.

2 and 3 should be reversed. The capital gains tax is being applied to your assets that have appreciated due to inflation. Your purchasing power could decline and you get a tax bill for it. Economic slavery.

How much money is spent guarding gold, insuring gold, transporting gold, attempting to determine what is real gold and what is fake gold. The only actually use for gold requires smelting gold into fake teeth for rappers. Bitcoin is an order of magnitude more efficient.

It would be the end of small business formation, small business growth. After income tax and capital gains tax on unrealized theoretical gains (that might be solely due to inflation) there would be nothing left. End of social mobility for the poor.

You a typically terrific. I realize you are new here but this is your worst take. Historically the Halvings have had enormous impact. Yes, it takes a month or three for pre-halving speculation to resolve and for the mechanics of mining post-halving to cause parabolic price moves.

Plenty of posts and content in 2017 advising investors to “hold your own keys” and “use cold storage wallet”. I don’t recall reading any advice to use a PO Box to purchase a Ledger and not use a credit card. Your advice is great but the horse is already out of the barn.

Been using Nexo for more than a year. From a customer’s perspective they have been much better than Celsius Network, BlockFi and Abra. Also my best token investment of the bunch in gross $ terms. Sorry you guys have had a bad experience.

It’s impossible. No matter what you do it will be wrong. All the existing software is terrible, doesn’t work and is applying non-sensical treatment to DeFi transactions. If you want to pay $20k there are a handful of competent operators but a ridiculous cost to try to comply.

I just converted my Celsius loan into Nexo. It took Celsius two weeks after the loan expired for them to pay it off, and CEL does not release excess collateral back to you to earn interest. I love CEL but NEXO is better.

My bank canceled my Line of Credit today. My net worth is up 7x since I opened the account. Apparently BTC and magic internet money isn’t considered collateral. If I owned overvalued real estate or a negative yield bond I could have kept the LOC.

How would they add ETH? It doesn’t work on the Lightning Network, doesn’t settle instantly and can’t be sent for free. ETH is slow and orders of magnitude more expensive to send than BTC ⚡️. Better off using Western Union than ETH.
