21 • ♂️ • Just some random dummy who just so happens to love Mario and all sorts of Nintendo stuff.
Mostly retweets but I do tweet sometimes here and there.
How did we let this happen? How did we let this become the new norm in modern gaming discourse where great modern games come out, people love them, and then months later they switch up on them and start saying said games are mid or straight up bad? (1/3)
Retweet to scare Zelda fans since there's some of them that genuinely believe that the genre is a problem for the 3D games.
I got newsflash for ya: Zelda as a franchise by design conceptually was always meant to be open world since the beginning, and most don't realize that.
All this Switch 2 graphics talk has really exposed so much the fact that gamers on Twitter really don't comprehend or just straight up refuse to comprehend how Nintendo works, who they are, and what the appeal for their systems and their games are.
I genuinely ask, what's with Nintendo Twitter's extreme obsession with themes and customization in game consoles, treating them as if they're the end all be all of any system when most people don't even care about console customization and just simply want to play games?
We could really use so many more people like Fadel right about now when it comes to literally ANY franchise with whatever levels or consistency of quality that it has with its games, nobody should be giving THAT much of a flying fuck about what anyone says, (1/5)
@notgxku
Shut up. If he didn't have any personality whatsoever, then how do you explain ALL THE SPINOFFS??? he wouldn't be a character if he didn't have any personality, he would just be Mario and not much else at all.
@enterzalman
More "Game Awards" nonsense from Geoff Keighley that's for sure.
Bro keeps proving time and time again that he does not know how to do an award show for gaming as an industry and medium.
All right fuck it, I'm not into graphics myself as I'm 99.9% more about gameplay, but here's some of the best looking games on the Switch (though these examples will be for first party ones but still bear with me here)
(1/5)
Fun Nintendo fact of the day!
Did You Know? The Nintendo Switch used to secretly have Satoru Iwata's very first game when he joined Nintendo hidden within the Switch's firmware, and you could actually trigger it by first setting up your Switch to the date he passed away, (1/6)
I completely understand that not everyone is gonna have the same opinions on the games ppl love, but the fact that people do this and let revisionist historianism get through their heads and start disregarding the great modern games now is really something I'm not a fan of. (2/3)
We saw this happen w/ Zelda TotK, Spider-Man 2, among other modern games, why now Mario Bros. Wonder?
Sure the game doesnt have creative boss fights, it could've had maybe some more challenge, but that doesn't mean they didn't care about what they were making and it shows. (3/3)
@SuperMarioOOC85
Besides, Charles is definitely getting much older, his voice (and Luigi's Mansion 3 is an example of this) has definitely gotten a little off and some instances a bit deeper so, we're definitely starting to see the aging of this man. Still sounds good but definitely a little off.
People seriously should remember how bad we had it in this era.
We were doing fine with the 3DS, but it was a near barren wasteland with releases on the Wii U and while Iwata was an amazing individual, he did made mistakes with the system and rectify them with the Switch, (1/4)
WHAT timeline are you on????????????????????????
This is NOT Wii U Nintendo anymore, this is Switch Nintendo and eventually to be Switch 2 Nintendo and look at how all these results speak for themselves.
They're completely FAR from dying anytime soon
@ShiinaBR
@axios
@SamLeakss
IMO Nintendo is not in any position to be difficult.
They don't have much going for them and the competition will eat their breakfast.
Sooner or later they'll just be a gaming developer.
Fr. These games right here are some the best modern examples of how amazing 2D games can still be whether that be platformers or action games/Metroidvanias or any other kind of game thats in 2D.
Production value is always key and many modern 2D games absolutely demonstrate that.
Lot of talk around these two has really revealed how much “big budget cinematic open world” brain rot has affected gaming culture into thinking 2D games are lesser
@DynamoSuperX
It's not even that it's mid at all, but it's just an easy option for anyone to digest even if there's better options elsewhere.
Having vanilla offerings is not really bad for any media game franchise you can think of.
@PownicMania5000
Charles was always full of life with Mario but honestly, Kevin goes even harder than that especially considering this is a dude in his mid 20s voicing him, and he's going all out with the happiness, amplifying the soul and joyful nature that makes Mario, Mario.
@AboutNintendo
Bayonetta isn't even Nintendo's franchise. They may publish the games, have contracts and deadlines in place, give Platinum however much they need etc, but other than that they've no responsibility and business when it comes to anything surrounding the making of these games.
Fuck it, another one. I'm tired of ppl pretending this is a bad sequel when it's really not. At all.
Now look, is the making experience a little worse? Yeah kinda. Is it disappointing that there's no more amiibo costumes? Sure. Is the online tremendously bad? Completely, (1/4)
@Crimson_Mayhem_
Petty and childish unnecessary rage over things that these types of people specifically weren't even gonna watch in the first place.
The moment they see a teeny tiny detail like a character's color of skin or gender they immediately go "*GASP* wOkE!!! cAncEL iT!!!! REEEEEE!!!"
@TheNCSmaster
Exactly, in marketing, do not ever go for basically a "show and don't tell" approach because you're just gonna end up confusing and frustrating consumers and leaving them uncertain about the whole product and, that's definitely NOT the impression you want your consumers to have,
@Reecee_yt
It's a fan server lol
It doesnt use anything official from Nintendo that's put altogether into this, I think it's gonna be perfectly fine especially since the fan servers for the Wii to my understanding, are still up.
Nintendo doesnt take down literally every single thing ever.
@TheNCSmaster
Thank you.
As long as a game is good, then it shouldn't matter at all the amount of playtime for ANY game in existence both new and old especially since not everybody in the world has all the free time to play and invest into games.
@PownicMania5000
The hate that this dude gets is really getting ridiculous at this point. Like yeah, he may not be an amazing Mario so far but we still have more trailers and the full movie to watch to properly judge his performance and he's still a great actor and person regardless of things.
"only kids games"
My guy, with all due respect, no.
Nintendo games are not for kids, they're literally for everyone. Thats why everyone loves them bc there something for everyone when buying consoles from this company bc their IP variety in terms genres and quality is MASSIVE.
"Nintendo is easily the smartest gaming company."
WTF you talking about? If Nintendo was the onlyone making games this is the type of gay childish shit we would be getting because is "fUn"
No evolution in graphics, No online, bad performance, no good stories, only kids games
Them. Now let me get this completely straight 'cause I'm sure as hell there will be some that will accuse me of full fanboyism/d**kriding, I completely agree w/ all the genuine criticisms that actual normal ppl have about Nintendo including my mutuals who I talk to and follow,
I love Fadel, but this is the wrong mentality to have as while yeah the games are the most important, the hardware is necessary as well to be competitive and this is just as asking for a darker timeline in gaming if you don't want Nintendo to have hardware.
Translation: it's over.
At this point Valve is pretty much the new third console manufacturer as they keep growing quite a bit with the Steam Deck (even though it's more of an accessory than an actual platform, but you get my point).
We're listening and we hear you. We've been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.
as long as you're having a good time with a game no matter what, even if u can be nuanced and acknowledge flawed aspects about a game and give CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, then thats really what should matter the most to anyone who's playing games within their own personal bubble (2/5)
@PownicMania5000
Mario is smarter than what many human beings will ever be, I'm surprised the whole quote still holds up super well and it's pretty relevant still.
@DynamoSuperX
Exactly, so the fact the he called them out for "not being faithful"and like I said "not having any passion for the franchise" is ridiculous to me. if they didn't know about the franchise, then why is there fanservice and references to the games themselves? You know what I mean?
"I hope Nintendo will participate in Summer Games Fest someday"
You're the same douchebag that didn't even allow anyone (other than your favorite people) to have time to express their words about their efforts, what developer would want to show up to your shows again? (1/2)
Geoff says the Summer Game Fest doesn’t have a “one more thing” game this year.
According to him, it’s a light year for the industry.
He hopes Nintendo will participate in Summer Game Fest someday.
@AboutNintendo
I don't understand why some are blaming Nintendo for this when it's all Platinum for making the wrong decisions and mismanaging things. They own the IP, not Nintendo.
Then doing the iconic gesture he always did back when he initially hosted Nintendo Directs himself in the early days of these presentations using the Joy-Cons, and then the game booted up you could actually play it. It was honestly very sweet that they did that for him, (2/6)
It would explain why NES Golf was removed from the system and has never seen an NSO rerelease bc Nintendo genuinely respects Iwata and his legacy enough for them to not rerelease the game probably ever in any capacity, and always keep the game within themselves somewhere. (6/6)
@DynamoSuperX
Imagine actually making a full on movie in such a nothing time LMAO
At that point you're just making a $1 movie with that time frame ☠️☠️
Speaking of games with the word "Land", now hopefully we get these games next bc weirdly we still only have Wario Land 3 playable on this service and also, we could use a bone being thrown at us for us Wario Land fans right about now. I miss this series.
But when it was found out that people could do that, Nintendo then decided to push a system update in 2018 that removed the game entirely out of the system's firmware.
The reason being is that the game is supposed to be an omamori, meaning that it's a good luck charm (3/6)
It's okay for them to be kind of the anomaly of the gaming industry bc them being themselves and not following industry standards like graphics and power, and just being creative and really thinking outside the box are one of the things that makes them so unique and appealing.
@AidenRS139
Odyssey desperately needs a sequel, not because it's bad at all or anything (extremely far from it), but it needs it because there's still so much potential with the the things that they can do with the formula, and expand upon it and have even more kingdoms
An omamori is not supposed to be opened since the purpose of having one is to grant good luck and protect you from bad luck, and opening it would take away all the good within it therefore defeating its purpose. (5/6)
Like, I get it, open world games aren't for everybody, but nobody can deny the great impact these two games have left, and there's still so much more that can be done with this format.
Shesez trying not to be an annoyingly entitled idiot challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
Like bro, at least be nice and wish nothing but the best for Charles instead of making false accusations towards Nintendo because this was a personal choice from him/an agreement between him and them.
Called it.
Terrible decision btw. Martinet hasn't slipped an inch in his portrayal of our favorite plumber so whatever they're thinking at Nintendo is at best way too preemptive.
In Japanese culture where it's supposed to be an honor of basically anyone who's passed away by putting a belonging of theirs in say a small pouch or any sort of small container, and a family member of said person who passed away can wear it and carry it. (4/6)
@ArloStuff
As someone who used to be a massive Angry Birds fan, this is insanely absurd. Imagine being a company and getting mad over basically the fact that your customers prefer your older product than your new ones to the point of taking what they like away from them
@sleeprhit_
The screen where it shows Mario Bros. Wonder, it even has the entire name written incorrectly, so that's an instant red flag and immediately fake because every game ever has their names writen correctly on screen all the time.
So I watched ALL of Scott's new vid minutes ago, the retrospective reviews he does for well, each year of the Switch, and doesn't seem like he liked last year's entire line up that much which makes me ask, was 2022 a BAD year for the system or was it still a GOOD even GREAT one?
without thinking about any negative toxic fucks that are constantly ruining discourse for any franchise out there. We should really stride for more positivity, nuance, and civilized discussion like the adults that I assume y'all are (3/5)
N.1: PLEASE do not bring Miyamoto in any of this as he ISN'T to blame at all for anything as fans still love to pin the blame on him for some reason
And 2: This is how Mario should be from now on as not only will it make future Mario games even more lively than before, (1/2)
Super Mario Bros. Wonder producer has spoken about giving the devs more freedom for the project and being less protective of Mario, a lot of new staff working on the game
@LuigiSidekick
Prime 4 even since it restarted development entirely; then ACNH got delayed for a year to ensure a healthier development cycle to avoid crunch, say what you will about Nintendo, but if there's two things they really DO care about A LOT, is their games and their employees.
Y'all should apologize to this collection 😭
Like obviously it's not perfect I'll always agree on that and won't deny it, but like, they at least cared a bit to do some touches to this collection and have the games be at least as smooth as they can get plus they're masterpieces,
@ChikoritaCheez
That's a thing that really annoys me about Nintendo fans in general too.
They ask for something and then completely fail to put their money where their mouth is and then they keep wondering "damn, why hasn't Nintendo brought back this franchise?" And all that stuff,
@AidenRS139
Like yeah, it could use a some more sports but as it stands, I think it's still good with how playing the sports are and the new ones included and, they're still just as fun as I remembered. So yeah, it's still good.
@DynamoSuperX
Whatever version of NYC may be, whether that New Donk City or regular New York, they would both still makes sense 'cause you know, Mario is from Brooklyn so, I don't think it would really be an issue if they go for a regular NY, although I would adore New Donk though.
@MattMed9
It's so ridiculous
Odyssey already went through this and it's now seen as sort of a mixed bag by a lot of ppl, there's many that still love it, but nowadays there's a lot of ppl that are mixed on it or simply don't like it,
Like, I'm sorry if I'm boring af, but I just don't get that at all especially since every single one of you has a phone, tablet, PC, or even all 3 of them, to do all the endless customization you want to your liking, you don't need a game console for that as it's just for games.
instead of whining like entitled insecure self centered manchildren all the time, making fanbases be worse places when they NEVER SHOULDN'T be. Grow the fuck up and actually learn how to be an reasonable stable rational adult instead of being a whiny emotional child 24/7. (4/5)
@calsiiun
@Xeno_Joey
@TheNCSmaster
A game's overall gameplay, game design, polish, stability/performance should ALWAYS be the
#1
priority when comes to, well, making a game. You can have the best graphics in the world but if the game is flawed and isn't fun to play, then sorry, but your game is trash.
You can make the most powerful system in the world if you want but if it doesn't have the most quality games and IPs out there that people want, then nobody's gonna give a fuck about your system.
It's all about the games in this industry. Not hardware specs.
@zurgerific
It would be shocking if the next Mario & Luigi game had these two joining adventure which is a common wish some fans have and I'd love that.
Fr. The Miyamoto hate is getting overblown and way too unnecessary.
He may not be perfect as he has made mistakes, but he's not this tyrannical dev who destroys story potential for ego just because you assume that about him and also because of your bitterness with modern PM.
@SuperMarioT_YT
This is why misinformation can be so devastating. All it took was one vid for literally HUNDREDS of folks who don’t know any better to start calling for Miyamoto’s retirement because the industry has “moved on without him”. Mindblowing.
And let me be clear, I don't hate the past 3D Zeldas, they're NOT bad games far from it, but comparing the two games we have now to all those others, you can clearly see how so much more limited they are and going back to a linear 3D game would be a huge downgrade.
Quick lesson for y'all:
Just bc a game is smaller and isn't going for the big grandiose route nor is it scored the highest by many, doesn't mean that said game in question is bad. It's a case where it's not gonna be everybody's cup of tea which is totally fine in and of itself.
For those who know about good luck charms and Japanese culture, correct me if I got something wrong about the purpose of omamoris 'cause it's the best way I could understand and describe them lol
@DynamoSuperX
She literally was like this is Super Paper Mario and that was great af, and she's even more great here! She's gonna be so great in this!!!
Toxically negative shitbags are the VERY reason why nobody takes us normal gamers seriously bc all these fuckers do is make every normie look bad, divide every fanbase, and others lumping us with them when we as a community should be striding to be so much better than this. (5/5)
They don't have to be the same as the other two, they can do their own thing and be in their own lane and we've seen that has worked well for them, 'cause their games, gimmicks, and IPs are what makes their systems worth buying. Not for technical prowess.
(bonus) We should be nice, decent, and be respectful for each other instead of tearing each other apart, while also asking for things to be much better in a respectful constructive and kindly manner instead of wishing the worst of the worst for the games we love.
Remake.
Point blank period.
There's a difference between remasters and 1 to 1 remakes and this one this falls in the latter.
New assets, new lighting, new engine, new animations, widescreen, UI tweaks, it's a remake.
@PownicMania5000
@SB2749
It's definitely a whole lot better than a fuckin' worthless badge. Imagine wasting $8 a month for that shit 💀
NSO has its problems but at least has plenty of qualities especially since it's gotten better over time at least with legacy content and adding basically free DLC.
People haven't realized this yet but, after 6 years of the Switch being out, we finally have the original 3D/2D Mario duo completed as we obviously have this on every single other Nintendo console.
You can even count Bowser's Fury as an extent as that was an original project too
@TheNCSmaster
Yeah it's just weird that for them, FE characters being in Smash and Xenoblade's characters looking like whatever equals bad franchises when clearly, they haven't even played the games themselves and the games from both of these respectively are actually pretty damn good.
@TheToonGirl
A.k.a back to BS reality 😂
But seriously though, it's an interesting contrast from adapting himself to a new world completely different from his, and yet feeling like he's on another brand new world when he's back as if he's now forgotten that he has a home and a even a family.
@DynamoSuperX
Im no Sonic fan myself but, it was very wrong that he blatantly insulted the producers for "not knowing about the franchise" and "not putting any passion on it" basically, and especially it's hypocritical when he himself is not a Sonic fan and doesn't even know much the franchise
@AidenRS139
If it works and functions correctly then it wouldn't really be too bad, I mean imagine having backwards compatibility for both DS and 3DS on this thing, that'd be amazing!
