The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.
My mum is an amputee and my grandma is terminally ill with cancer. Going to her first Pride was on her bucket list so they travelled 400 miles to join me only for
@PrideBrighton
to shove them out of the way in a ‘disability tent’. Take a look:
Eating disorders are a very real issue for a lot of young people and to see Kim Kardashian actively encouraging her fans to develop an unhealthy relationship with food is terrifying and gravely concerning.
Wow, this blew up didn’t it. It’s a joke I saw on Facebook and reworded it slightly hoping it’d make a handful of people smile, against the backdrop of anxiety and panic. Didn’t think it’d reach millions tho 😂
Mission accomplished: ✅
@ChtyCommission
As a charity CEO, I am concerned at the reputation damage this will cause to the third sector. It is clear the Commission no longer have rigorous safeguards and due diligence in place, I’m afraid this brings your authority into disrepute.
Most trans people just want to get on with their lives. They want to be able to walk down the street without fearing their safety. They want to goto a supermarket without being hurled with insults. You know - the general stuff most of us take for granted.
I wasn’t bullied because I’m gay. I was bullied because people were homophobic. There’s a huge difference. Attitudes can change with the right education and support, identity doesn’t and shouldn’t.
#AntiBullyingWeek
If you don’t think homophobia still exists, try holding hands with a member of the same sex for an afternoon and you’ll soon see that it does
#IDAHOBIT2018
What do you get when you mix coronavirus with good news about doggos and the answer to a 20-year old mystery that has puzzled us all? A very happy internet! I've never seen a Tweet with 1M likes until now. Wow!
5 things to give up:
- allowing toxic people to drain your energy
- saying yes when you really want to say no
- putting yourself down when you’re trying your best
- taming down your personality for the comfort of others
- comparing yourself to the edited lives you follow online
Stop telling people to ‘respect’ the referendum result. It was built on lies, deceit and manipulation of the masses and there is absolutely nothing respectful about any of this.
I have never and will never respect it.

Thought your view of

was bad at
@PrideBrighton
last night? You wanna try having a disability. Let’s celebrate LGBT+ people but shove everyone in wheelchairs out of the way so they can’t see, says Pride. Shocking, discriminatory and disappointing. Please RT
I get sick of hearing 'bullying is just part of growing up' - as a result of bullying, 1 in 10 attempted to take their own lives and over half felt anxious or depressed. These things should NEVER BE PART OF GROWING UP. Posting it online doesn't make it any less real.
#OddOneOut
In the time it takes you to read this, 8 transphobic posts will be posted online; from insults & harassment to incitement of violence.
The shocking reality of online transphobia is exposed in our latest report, from an analysis of 10 million posts:
As many may know, my wonderful Grandma is terminally ill and battling cancer. I dedicated my book to her and doctors warned she may not be here in January to see it. So my wonderful editor had a preview edition printed for her and here’s the first time she read the dedication
@ChtyCommission
Allowing a known hate group special privileges and assumed public trust under the umbrella of ‘charity’ is an abhorrent abuse of your power and a complete misjudgement. I suspect the commission will regret this decision in the very near future.
Hugely inspired by

My dad left when I was 3 and instead of leaving my mum to get on with it, my grandma stepped up as a second parent. She lost her short battle to cancer in January and I miss her more than words can ever say.
This year, I’m dedicating
#InternationalWomensDay
to my Grandma ❤️
@ChtyCommission
I would also be very happy to speak with a decision maker at the Commission. I personally know of several vulnerable people who have been driven offline and to points of extreme crisis because of this hate group and their radicalisation of impressionable internet trolls.
So I’ve developed an unusual obsession... quantum physics. The more I read and learn about it, the more I need. I’m quite literally reading a textbook on it right now. It’s fascinating and contradictory to so many things. Please tell me there are others out there like me?
5 things to leave in 2019:
- Choosing people who don't ever choose you back
- Comparing yourself to the people you follow on social media
- Talking crap about your appearance and putting yourself down
- Worrying about what others will think
- Letting fear hold you back
The Government have positioned themselves as a toxic Instagram influencer by prescribing a diet of soup and shakes to try and combat obesity. A direct gateway to disordered eating and unhealthy relationships with food.
Statement from
@PrideBrighton
admits 275 disabled folks registered for disabled access seats, yet only 100 were allowed them on arrival. Let Pride know that this is not acceptable.
Just a reminder that the lives you follow on social media don’t actually exist. Think of it as a highlight reel - all the best bits with all the crap and mundane filtered out. It’s dangerous to benchmark against something totally unattainable.
@ChtyCommission
A very unusual decision given the long and evidenced track record of this ‘organisation’ repeatedly discriminating against vulnerable groups. Doesn’t feel consistent with the level of due diligence we have experienced, working with the commission for almost a decade.

@ChtyCommission
If the commission doubts my comments, you are welcome to check my mentions on Twitter in the following hours where it will undoubtedly be filled with death threats, abuse and attempts to undermine me. This group of Mumsnetters have the same tactics they use over and over again.
If you’re LGBT+ please know that you aren’t the problem. You are not broken, there is nothing unnatural about you and you don’t need to prove yourself to anybody. The only things broken are the homophobic attitudes plaguing our society.
I am a proud trans ally because I firmly believe that nobody should have their sheer existence as a topic of debate. Also because I’m not an idiot.

Just a reminder that New Years Eve is nothing but a social construct, so don’t feel under pressure to go out if you don’t want to and try not to shame yourself if you don’t have any plans. Do whatever it is you feel like doing ❤️
Over the past year or so, I have been horrified to see the identities and existence of the trans community questioned, insulted and demonised. I have never been prouder to stand up for the rights of others and even prouder to co-sign with my friends and colleagues.
#GwithTheT
Homophobia isn’t just about having abuse shouted at you or the threat of violence as you walk home. It is the look of disgust as you kiss your partner in public, it is the waiter avoiding eye contact, the cab driver driving aggressively and the stares on public transport.
Earlier this evening my beautiful, wonderful Grandma lost her battle to cancer. She was one of my best friends and one of the only constants in my life, so we are devastated. I’ll be taking a bit of a break from social media other than for the book launch on Thursday.
Remember that social media will be a show reel tomorrow - with many only showing the good parts and filtering out the boring, awkward and tense moments. Don’t compare your reality with someone else’s show reel. No Christmas is ever perfect.
For 18 years, my sexuality was used against me and I grew up feeling shame and resentment. Today I can truly say that I am proud to be gay and deeply in love. Huge thanks to
@riverisland
for supporting
@DitchtheLabel
with their new Pride collection. ❤️
Despite the onslaught of abuse I’ve had from extremists, having my phone number leaked and photos of me as a child shared with captions like ‘he should have killed himself when he as a kid’, I’m still proud to stand as an ally to the trans community.
#TransAwarenessWeek
Just a reminder that anti-trans campaigners are a tiny and annoyingly vocal minority and have no right to benefit from our community of acceptance and belonging. If you are trans and at
@PrideInLondon

Disappointing to see the reputable

newspaper debating the entitlement of basic human rights assigned to trans people.
Let me be very clear: human rights are not open to debate. Remove the tweet and issue an apology immediately.

So deeply disappointing that

are still enabling this dangerous extremist. I remember warning them quite clearly that the lives of queer/trans students would be deeply affected by this lecturer. Appalling and tragic. Listen to your students

I see
#ShameOnSussexUni

I’m proud to stand for my community and no TERF will ever change that.
If you are LGBT+ know that there is nothing wrong with you. You are not broken and you don’t need to be fixed. The only thing broken here is the ignorant, hateful and uneducated rhetoric that questions the existence of our community.
We’ve been working behind the scenes for the past year on a new tool to evaluate the rates of online transphobia and tomorrow we are finally ready to launch it. It is my hope that this research will bring transphobia deeper into the public consciousness. More soon.. 🌈
Just a reminder that it’s okay to not feel positive all the time. It’s okay to sometimes only focus on the negatives, but don’t allow yourself to stay there for too long. Give yourself time to feel and process negative emotion and move on when the timing is right.
Hi loves. I’m taking a bit of time out from social media. My grandma is really sick & terminally ill with cancer. She’s like a second parent to me so it’s honestly devastating. I can’t even think straight & need to practice what I preach. Please keep my big G in your thoughts ❤️
Instagram is making us insecure. We're all bombarded with images of unattainable lifestyle and beauty. It is known that when you are insecure, you are easier to influence. This web of psychology is what makes Kim Kardashian's promotion of appetite suppressants so alarming.
Please can we normalise not having an opinion on absolutely everything and make it okay to say 'I don't know enough about that subject to have an opinion either way' without triggering outrage
If the exit polls are correct,
#GE2019
marks a concerning moment in our history. A deterioration in politics, honesty and kindness. A signal that you can say what you want, you can discriminate and spread vulgar vitriol and still get voted into the highest office in our country.
FAO: the TERF’s tweeting me abuse in response to me standing up for trans rights. I’m genuinely not interested in what you have to say. I’ve tried to reason with you lot before but it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
Go back to the stone ages where you belong. X
If you are complicit to transphobia, you are part of the problem. Switch off the transphobic shows. Stop buying the papers with transphobic headlines & above all, stand as an ally and call out abuse when you see it. We all have a role to play in tackling the growing issue of hate
Pulling other people down won’t ever take you higher.
Pulling other people down won’t ever take you higher.
Pulling other people down won’t ever take you higher.
Pulling other people down won’t ever take you higher.
Pulling other people down won’t ever take you higher.
How many more lives do we need to lose to suicide and how many more people need to be diagnosed with depression, anxiety and eating disorders before people will hear us? Abuse, whether it’s online or offline is devastating and an epidemic plaguing our society.
#OddOneOut
[THREAD] A few weeks ago I called out a lecturer at the University of Sussex for being transphobic. In retaliation, her army of TERFs inundated me with over 2,000 abusive Tweets over a 2-day period. I was accused of all sorts...
Can you believe I’ve just been sent an article on LinkedIn titled: ‘Coronavirus: How to Survive Working from Home’. SURVIVE and working from home should never be in the same sentence. It’s simple: get out of bed, put a dressing gown on, pull out your laptop, get on with your day.
So I’ve been in the house since Tuesday and I’m seeing photos of people out and about. Am I doing this wrong? I don’t have symptoms but figured self-isolation was best practice?
Thrilled to hear that the 'Jeremy Kyle' show has been suspended. I hope it doesn't return. That show manipulates vulnerable people under the cloak of 'entertainment' and certainly does not have the welfare interests of participants at heart.
‘Stop teaching kids and same sex relationship because it’ll turn them gay’
Also stop teaching them natural history just in case they turn into dinosaurs
If you haven’t been vaccinated or had COVID yet, imagine how it’d feel to catch it at the last hurdle for the sake of a pint. Be accountable for your own safety and don’t rely on the Government to have your best interests at heart. Because they don’t.
Hey, it’s okay to feel angry, upset, scared or all of the above by the election. It’s alright to feel pessimistic and down about it, but don’t stay there for longer than you need to. You’re not alone and there are so many people fighting with and for you.
#UKElection
3 things to leave in 2019:
- toxic relationships and people holding you back
- spending more time documenting the moment for social media rather than being present and enjoying it
- saying yes to please others rather than saying no to please yourself.
This is heartbreaking to watch as 4 presenters on
@loosewomen
gang up to bully and humiliate a potentially vulnerable woman to the point of tears and mental breakdown on live television. I am disgusted.
Can we please normalise not having an opinion on something? Sometimes we just don’t have access to the facts or have the interest in something and that’s okay. We need to resist the pressure to have a passionate opinion on absolutely everything.
