@acb4gf invites you to a crucial discussion regarding the Global Fund's Additional Safeguard Policy (ASP). This policy, implemented in 2004 as a key risk management tool, currently frames grant management in approximately 30 countries, including 15 in the African constituencies. The OIG recently completed an advisory review of the ASP, addressing concerns about its effectiveness and the need for a clear exit strategy. This review, available on the OIG website, provides valuable insights into the successes and challenges of the ASP in countries. The review highlights mixed outcomes of grant implementation and risk management under the ASP, prompting important questions about its long-term impact and optimal application. This information call will: • Present the OIG's key findings and recommendations. • Review the Global Fund's response to the advisory report. • Facilitate a dialogue among countries currently under the ASP.
