Outreach Example: just my take Lead Profile: Head of Content for Observer Media Link: Annual turnover: approx. $22m Post context: asking for feedback on annual PR lists. Potential outcomes: 1. Direct customer on Podscan enterprise plan 2. Partnership opportunity to advertise to PR firms How to engage.. Even though this is not directly related to Podscans value prop, let's peel the onion a bit. The fact the Head of Content is posting on Reddit for feedback shows they're engaged, open to convo, and that the org is in 'reflection mode'. They have also replied to a few comments. This is good. It indicates a willingness to change internal process, ops, and tech. So what is their actual problem? They 'hear from the same PR folks every year', so the PR lists can become repetitive. Plus, it's 'VERY hard list to do as small PR firms can have an outsized impact vs their relative size'. I dug deeper. On their lists, there is a section for best reputation management PR firms: My take There is very little / zero mention of social listening / podcast rep mgmt on the list. A potential gap in Observers criteria for ranking PR firms. You could talk about how: - reputation management has evolved in 2025 - the need for real time, fast, and responsive alerts - across alternative types of media is critical (i.e. podcast keyword monitoring). You could then tell a story about one of Podscans clients on how they use it for rep mgmt. Add some value on how you'd measure a PR firm's tech progressiveness. Observer could expand this list to include: - PR firms making waves in social listening across digital platforms with recency, speed, and action. This plants the seed for you to refer your users to them - if any fit the PR firm category. You can spoon feed them the solution! But let's wait.. ..we now have our foot in the door.
