Depher C.I.C. has always used photos from our completed projects to raise awareness and support. This transparency has enabled us to help many more people in desperate need, and it has never been hidden from the public. We would like to clarify the social media post involving Joyce and the image of a noose. These are two completely different and separate situations. The noose photo represented an individual from Preston during the pandemic, whereas the other photo is of Joyce from Nelson, who lived 58 miles apart from the individual in Preston. When the BBC enquired about Joyce, we informed them that the picture of Joyce was not posted by Depher. The BBC incorrectly assumed a connection between Joyce and the noose, which is completely unfounded. Our visit to Joyce involved replacing a shower, repairing a leak, and fixing a radiator valve. Unfortunately, we were later informed by one of her home carers that she had sadly passed away. We firmly believe that the BBC has mistakenly linked the noose photo with the image of Joyce. Furthermore, we suspect that a group of individuals, who have previously admitted to doctoring our photos and spreading disinformation, have influenced the BBC's reporting. We have evidence suggesting collaboration between these individuals and the journalists involved. The BBC only showed two photos: one of Joyce with her face covered and the noose picture. They omitted other photos of Joyce included in the article, which would have allowed for a proper explanation and rebuttal in our right to reply. We have submitted a formal complaint to Ofcom regarding these issues and filed a Freedom of Information request for the unedited version of the interview. We trust that Ofcom will conduct an unbiased investigation into these serious allegations of misconduct by the reporters and the BBC. Our staff work tirelessly day in and day out to assist those in need. It is unacceptable for our staff, who are dedicated to helping others, to receive disrespectful phone calls or threats of any kind, including death threats. This behaviour is completely unjustified, especially towards individuals who are committed to providing essential support to those who reach out to us. We understand the frustration that this documentary may have caused, but our staff do not deserve to be subjected to any form of abuse. This is our job, and we are here to help and social media posts of jobs etc will be going out on X (twitter) & Facebook regardless of backlash. Lastly, we want to emphasize that all funds raised have been used to help those in need. Despite the BBC's portrayal, our commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals remains unwavering. Regardless of opinions about the current situation, if you or your family need help, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please remember, the donators of the past you are the ones that deserve credit as you made all of these free jobs possible, we would like to thank the people who still support us as we are still out on the roads helping people in need but we are working more cautiously as death threats and others have been submitted through the emails so we can not put our engineers at risk.
