@Andie00471 Right? The Federal government sucks. Our state legislature just passed a new law to allow police to remove the weapons of domestic abusers, since suspending their FOID and asking them to surrender their guns never worked out well. It made my day 💙

If a billionaire, with no expertise in education, tried to gut the department of education, bc he hates higher education bc he couldn’t hack Stanford after 2 days, that would be stupid, right?
If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal. Judges aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power.

Karina’s bill was signed into law on Monday. The bill is named in honor of Karina Gonzalez, who was killed in July 2023 inside her Little Village home, along with her 15-year-old daughter, Daniela. Authorities say Gonzalez’s husband, Jose Alvarez, allegedly shot them both. Manny Alvarez was the sole survivor of the deadly shooting.
