It’s not as simple as having higher self esteem sadly. Many Black women will tell you they get treated differently when they have different styles. Even your own family will comment negatively on your natural hair. You can’t simple self-esteem your way out of that.

I had to tell people to stop telling me I’m strong. If you believe I’m strong & I’m still saying I’m struggling, that should tell you how bad it is. What I’ve learned is that people just do not know what to do when the “strong” person is struggling, but they need to figure it out

🤣🤣 both of my kids did this while I was breastfeeding them. With my son (oldest) I would end the feeding & say I hope you’re full. With my daughter, I was a damn cow & had a freezer full of milk, so she effectively took herself off the breast. Both times I wanted to fight them.

Pilates instructor here. You can do Pilates every day. It’s designed to not strain your muscles or joints, if done correctly. I take between 5-7 classes a week, but only on 4-5 days. I have a bad knee (men tear), lower back (bulging discs), & hips. Never had an injury or strain.

On Monday, my son’s teacher sent an email that they needed some supplies. That same day another teacher called and said the school is out of paper due to a delivery mixup. By Tuesday, my husband dropped off some boxes of paper along with all of the other supplies they asked for.

These are all wonderful suggestions & I’ll get as many as I can and buy gift cards for what I can’t. He’s a first grader so he will probably have no more than 2 teachers. I know last year was rough for them. Hopefully this helps them start this year on a high note! Thank you all!

Going on my son’s first field trip as a chaperone and I’m low key emotional. I remember when my mom couldn’t afford to send me on many field trips and when she could, she couldn’t afford to take the day off to attend. I feel so fortunate for even this small thing I’m afforded.

So true. Every guy I talk to about Pilates thinks they can do everything I do there. It took me YEARS to master these things and on some of them, I still have some improvements to make. Pilates is hard as fuck. That’s why I love it.

Yesterday morning, she called me almost crying thanking us for doing that. I told them at the beginning of the year that if they ever needed anything to ask us. I’m glad she did. It made me sad that she’s worried about next year because she’s losing my son as a student.
