I’m sick that anyone, let alone the President of the United States, would weaponize 9/11, even more so to target a Muslim Member of Congress for political gain. Beyond reckless and morally bankrupt.
This is a hateful & disgusting comment. My colleagues are dedicated American public servants who are proudly serving their constituents. They represent the best of the American Dream & make our democracy stronger with diverse experiences & perspectives.
After considering the articles and underlying evidence, I’ve concluded the President abused his power, put our national security at risk, and obstructed Congress. I will vote in the affirmative for both articles.
Nearly 3,000 treasured lives were taken on 9/11. They should never be turned into pawns on a political chess board. Nor should a fellow American and public servant’s life be placed in danger by those appealing to hate rooted in Islamophobia.
It's a new day in

. Thank you all so much for the love and support. We did this together. We believed in the goodness, the decency and the humanity in us all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Let's get to work!

@PatRyanUC
is headed to Congress! Congratulations my friend — you are a true public servant and I know you will be a champion for Upstate New Yorkers in D.C. Much love to

President Trump abused his power and undermined our national security by pressuring the Ukrainian president for political gain. These facts warrant moving forward with articles of impeachment.
The twin pillars of our democracy are freedom to speak our minds and one-person, one-vote. I wrote in the
@WashingtonPost
today about my experiences as a black man in America, and how it is imperative to utilize the instruments of democracy to make change.
Honored and truly humbled to receive an endorsement from
@BarackObama
. He stands for so many of the values that we hold as our foundation - preserving and improving our democracy, a commitment to service, hard work, and the promotion of dignity and respect for everyone.
Today I’m proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates – leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent:
As an elected representative, I will continue to put the priorities of
#NY19
at the heart of every decision I make. Based on her commitment to prioritize issues critically important to the district, I've decided to support Leader Nancy Pelosi for Speaker.
My sons inspired me to run for congress. I want to build a better future for them and for other young people. I am committed to showing up and fighting for everyone in the district, so that we can bring meaningful change to our community and for our young people.

Being appointed Lieutenant Governor of New York is a true honor. Thank you to Governor
@KathyHochul
, the Committee to Fill Vacancies, & the NYS Democratic Party for recognizing my work in Congress and passion to connect with the amazing people in each corner of the Empire State.
No one should be forced to make life or death decisions because of the cost of healthcare. No one should have to choose between vital medicine or food. We can and we must do better to reduce the cost of care and prescription drugs.
#ProtectOurCare
Yesterday we knocked on over 62,000 doors and we are heading out to hit even more!! Thank you so much to everyone out there helping to get out the vote. Let’s go!!
#NY19
Thank you,
#NY19
! From day one, I have worked to represent every single person in our communities, irrespective of party affiliation, and lead with love. I am humbled to serve as your representative once more and look forward to the work ahead.
We did it! Got our new office on Capitol Hill! Looking forward to welcoming
#NY19
constituents and focusing on the issues that will bring positive change to upstate New York. We did this by working together and I’m so honored to serve everyone in our district.
With all the noise going on, I want to speak to you directly. I'm running for Congress to serve you, no one else.
We might not agree on every issue, but I can promise you this - I will always be straight with you. I will always be accountable.
#NY19
Thank you, New York. I am so honored to be on this journey with you, and with Governor
@KathyHochul
.
The stakes we face in November are unprecedented. The same dark forces undermining our freedoms and ripping apart the very fabric of our nation are now seeking power here.
I have deep love and respect for President Biden and what he's accomplished for America. I also believe that Donald Trump should never be near the Oval Office ever again.
I’m a working class kid born and raised in upstate NY. Growing up the rules were simple: work hard, do your homework and go to church. Those values are what drive me to run for Congress: honesty, hard work and service. I believe that when you make a promise you keep it.
#NY19
Truly an honor to meet and speak with President Obama earlier this week — in these turbulent political times, it was inspiring to hear his continuing vision for progress for America.
I am a Democrat, but that is not why I ran. I ran because I am an American and I believe in our democracy. Being a politician in a democracy should mean you speak to, listen to, and serve everyone irrespective of party or the size of one’s bank account.
#NY19
With the race officially called, I am incredibly humbled by the opportunity to once again serve every community in
#NY19
& do the work. I thank Mr. Van De Water for his concession call and his spirited campaign focused on the issues.
The notion that the John Lewis Voting Rights Act cannot even be afforded the dignity of being debated on the Senate floor, marks a very sad day for our democracy & reveals a level of partisanship that's recklessly at odds with our democratic ideals.
Today's the day! Thank you for all of the love and support from our volunteers, friends and neighbors. Make sure you have a plan to vote today. Polls are open from 6am - 9pm.

Bringing back the Delgado Dispatch to report to you from Washington! Busy week here in DC with lots of info on how to best serve our constituents & now getting ready for events in

this weekend.
Rise and shine, Election Day is here! Democracy does not happen on its own; it is a moral endeavor we have to believe in and make happen. Let’s get it done! Love you all.
With every passing year, Hanukkah takes on more meaning for our boys. It is special to watch them grow up connecting to their Jewish identity and figuring out who they are in the world.
Some great energy at the
@hudsonvalstrong
, Dutchess County Dems drive-in rally! We must keep the focus as we close out strong. Today is the last day of early voting. Let’s get it done!
Reminder that John Faso has voted 21 times against equal pay for equal work. He voted to defund Planned Parenthood. He doesn't support women's reproductive rights.
We need more people in Congress standing up for women's rights.
That is definitely not John Faso.
“U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado has been appointed to the House Agriculture Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the two assignments he sought.”
Senator McConnell is sitting on the priorities of the American people & failing to take action on legislation to address the cost of prescription drugs, address gun violence, or protect our democracy. We will not stop demanding action & accountability.
John Faso was the deciding vote to gut protections for pre-existing conditions. Faso may shy away from the facts, but I won't. I want to give everyone a choice to have the quality coverage that works for them and their families.
I'm running to serve everybody in this room - Democrats, Republicans, Independents - because we are all Americans. To be a democracy our government needs to be for the people, by the people.
I came to Congress to serve, to bring people together and find common ground while being accountable.
We aren't going to agree on everything, but we have got to start by having civil conversations - really listening to each other - in order to find achievable solutions.
LOOK: The newly-elected U.S. House freshman class of the 116th Congress posed outside of the Capitol Wednesday, just one day after meeting for the first time since the midterm elections. It's the most House freshman diverse in history.
No matter how nasty, how ugly, how hateful the attacks, we continued to believe in the goodness, in the decency, and the humanity in us all. The re-engagement continues with a commitment to giving the government back to the people.

Still feeling so humbled and honored to have the endorsement of former President Barack Obama. Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of support and positivity! Looking forward to continuing our work together and flipping this seat from red to blue in November.
#NY19
I'm fighting for issues that matter in
#NY19
- ensuring access to quality, affordable health care, protecting coverage for pre-existing conditions, and meaningful tax reform for working classes families. It's time we had a representative who fights for the people of upstate NY.
Linking a Muslim lawmaker to the horrific terrorist attack on 9/11 is abhorrent, hateful, and grossly Islamaphobic. We must all condemn such anti-Muslim animus and do the needed work to quiet the reign of divisiveness plaguing our country.
“Don’t despair. Keep the faith.” These were the words Representative John Lewis shared with me as we sat together on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. I will not despair, and I will always keep the faith. Thank you, Mr. Lewis.
Rural communities, including those here in Upstate New York, are suffering mightily from the absence of broadband. The time is long overdue to make broadband access for all communities, no matter how rural, a national priority.
Heading to two town halls today in Montgomery and Schoharie counties.
Thank you to all of our volunteers out knocking on doors and making calls today. Let’s keep going!
Today, with a steady hand and an open heart, I will take the Oath of Office to begin my second term representing
#NY19
. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve and will do all I can to lead with a unifying voice and a profound commitment to our democratic principles.
Is this how we honor our promise to our veterans? Mail delays are jeopardizing timely delivery of medications, paychecks, packages for loved ones and more. These disruptions to service are putting lives at risk.
#SaveUSPS
There is no legal or Constitutional basis for the President's use of emergency powers to fund a wall. Congress expressly ruled, under its sole Constitutional authority, that no such funds be appropriated.

knocked on over 115,000 doors this weekend! Blown away by the enthusiasm and support from every corner of the district. Excited for the last push before Nov. 6!
1,717,067 people in New York are living with diabetes and paying outrageous prices for life-saving insulin.
A $35 per month cap on insulin will lower costs & save lives.
I made a commitment on the campaign trail to go everywhere and be accessible. Now I’m in Broome Co., coming off my 11th town hall. That’s 11 town halls, in 11 counties, in my first 11 weeks in office! Thanks to all who came out. I’m truly grateful for your willingness to engage.
This election was also a test of our progress, and the results here in NY19 are clear, we deserve better and we can be better. The work begins now.

Love having my boys here with me in D.C.! Being away from these guys is one of the hardest parts of the job. Awesome to spend some quality time with them.
I am deeply honored and humbled to have
@HillaryClinton
's endorsement.
She once reminded us that fighting for what’s right is worth it. I will never stop believing that and I will never stop fighting for you.
As a member of Congress, I voted to codify Roe v. Wade.
As your Lieutenant Governor, I will fight like hell to protect the right to an abortion. Here in New York, abortion is safe, it is legal, and women are free.
I get too many emails and hear too many stories from people all across our district who are struggling to afford the healthcare they need to survive. I will fight for quality, affordable healthcare for everyone. That's my promise.
Another senseless shooting, this time in Jacksonville. While our thoughts are with the victims and their families, what we need right now is leadership from Congress. We need our representatives to pass gun safety measures that will protect us from these all too common tragedies.
Let’s be clear about what’s happening: the Trump Admin is looking for more ways to limit access to health care coverage & Rx drugs for millions of families. I will vigorously fight this attempt to raise costs & keep millions from needed health resources.
This is a new day built upon our shared values, values that I was raised on right here in upstate NY and values I experienced all across this district, no matter what county or town I visited. No matter how rural or how urban, no matter how red or how blue.
#NY19
When it came time to take action on gun violence,
@KathyHochul
passed legislation to take illegal guns off our streets and strengthened our gun laws.
That’s leadership.
On our way ➡️ Oneonta then ➡️ Kingston to show love and appreciation for our amazing
#NY19
volunteers. Thank you all so much for the hard work and dedication everyone put in during the campaign! Let’s keep it going to bring positive change to upstate NY.
Thank you to everyone for all the support. I’m beyond grateful. The work continues, and I am deeply humbled and truly honored by the opportunity to keep doing that work on behalf of all of
#NY19
.
Thousands of New Yorkers lost family in nursing homes to COVID-19, a pain made worse by the inability to comfort their loved ones in their final hours. They deserve answers and accountability. (2/2)
I am deeply humbled and truly grateful to serve as your Lieutenant Governor. Today, I’m asking for your vote — for the privilege of continuing to be your partner on this journey.
Lacey and I just voted with the boys! I hope
@KathyHochul
and I have earned your vote.
