Deerwood Realty is an independent real estate brokerage. Tweets and retweets not an endorsement as I have fat fingers.

Odd scam I'm getting from my website: Someone will fill out a contact form and say they are looking for one of the more expensive areas around St. Louis county, so like Frontenac, yesterday was Ladue, I suspect I'll someone ask about Clayton next. They say they are looking for a house to buy in this area, but never leave a phone number, and when I send a reply email, nothing happens for a few days then they respond with like 2 nonsensical sentences, and it kinda stops at some point. Oh, and they are always from out of town, so far California and New York.... What is the point of this? Waste my time?

@khalil_knows I feel that the large national brokerages have used words like “technology”, “AI”, etc. to hoodwink agents…”training” is another one.

@mountainwesttax Definitely onto something here….people value things differently than the market seems to right now.

A lot of truth to this in my experience
The whole "I am going to buy my next house and keep my current house as a rental" sentiment is very overrated in my eyes I hardly know a single person this has worked out for long-term Not because the idea is "bad" per se, but because: - You end up spending much more on house two than originally anticipated, and need the equity for a down payment - You decide to do a bunch of remodels, or big projects in house 2 that requires more liquidity - You move far away from house 1 and it becomes a pain to manage it as a rental - You just don't enjoy being a landlord (big one) This is not some house hack that you need to follow.. most people need to sell house 1 to buy house 2, and that is okay, and recommended in most scenarios I would say
