Somah and I used to pack a lunch and join my sister and her family on the ranch for the days they would brand their cattle. On this day, I put Somah on the horse and walked her around. This photo is a reminder that we can help each other, in Somah's words, "do the hard things." <3

The Trump administration's actions caused chaos and thrust families, elders, and kids in New Mexico and across the country into uncertainty. It's cruel. Though he reversed course, for now, the future is still uncertain, and the cruelty is still there.

Today, I went to two of New Mexico’s most active churches to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We shared a meal and resolve to remember practice Martin Luther King Jr.’s example of of respecting everyone no matter who they are or their background.

With the inauguration of President Trump, there’s a lot at stake. He surrounds himself with super-rich people who look down on us and our communities. We will need to do the hard work of getting important things done and pushing back against an administration that couldn’t care less about regular people.
