For the longest time, I had my podcast with Mike Atherton pinned on my profile, but after having built a diverse portfolio since, I think my pinned tweet needs to be a direct link to all of my relevant work within cricket media🏏
The pursuit continues🎙️
Why would you assume he's hated? Probably a self reflection of your own post loss grief cycle. We love ourselves some Netravalkar - a man who clearly won at life 🎶
We, Pakistan cricket supporters, demand a Zaka Ashraf resignation as PCB Chairman, with immediate effect. Spread the word. Raise your voice. Enough is enough.
With all due respect, Shami bhai, our fans stuck around at the MCG and kept cheering and singing Dil Dil Pakistan, even when England lifted the trophy. We are proud of this unit, and will celebrate them, unlike the slander your team has been subject to, of late.
As the son of a retired army officer, I think the institution's constant meddling in Pakistan's politics, including three coups, vile campaigning against Fatima Jinnah, Zia's Islamization, reckless foreign policy, and consistent authoritarianism has wrecked the country. 1/2
When Umar Akmal was walking off today after scoring 43 off 14, waving to the crowd with that smile on his face (and almost half a tear in his eye) that suggested he was awestruck himself, having forgotten what applause feels like, I felt a bit of grief.

If Jasprit Bumrah isn't the Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament, I will riot.
He won India this final. He was unplayable all tournament. His peak is unlike any other peak I have ever witnessed.
No one deserves to be called 'world champion' more than him ⭐
11th November: Played in Kolkata vs. England in the World Cup.
13th November: Reached Pakistan via Dubai
16th November: Playing in Pakistan Cup Semi-Final for Peshawar Region
IFTIMANIA!
Alright then! Babar Azam shocks the cricketing world by declaring the innings, having set New Zealand a target of 138 to chase, in 15 overs. If this was Ben Stokes, you guys would have come out all guns blazing with praise. Time to celebrate your captain!
#PAKvNZ
The fact that this journalist has a blue tick, and has gone on to blatantly disrespect flood victims (represented by the half drowned jersey numbers and names), is an extremely poor look for Indian sports journalism. Not cool, Vaibhav.
This might just be the worst team of consultants ever formed, in all of cricket, so much so that Rao stands out. No place for a former Test captain who sold his country on the job, at Lord's of all places. Just my opinion.
🚨 Kamran Akmal, Rao Iftikhar Anjum and Salman Butt have been named consultants to Chief Selector Wahab Riaz.
The first assignment of the new men's national selection committee will be to select the squad for the 5 T20Is against New Zealand.
#CricketTwitter
This is not the lowest moment in the history of Pakistan cricket, even by a fraction. Ireland 2007 at Sabina Park was the lowest moment as far as in-game performances went. Spot fixing 2010 trumps that, by and large.
This is Babar Azam 3.0 folks.
He has evolved in the face of constant criticism, ridicule and adversity.
Tonight he has silenced the strike rate critics by scoring a ton for the ages, with a dash of unorthodoxy as well, to sweeten the narrative.
Elite batter.
Mohammad Rizwan is now Pakistan's leading run scorer in this Test series. Mohammad Rizwan did not feature in the first Test in Perth.
Let that sink in.
Relinquishes captaincy duties with dignity. Babar Azam remains a national treasure, and here is to hoping we see his best years with the bat in the next decade. Thank you for your services, skip 🙏🏼
He may well have a good cricketing brain, but I would never involve a former captain who sold his nation for a few thousand quid, on the job. The integrity of the current lot is sacrosanct, and must remain that way, in my humble opinion.
Pakistan need to somehow get Salman Butt involved within the Pakistan cricket management. After hearing him on commentary I have no doubt he has the best cricketing brain in Pakistan.
#PakistanCricket
He played a T20 World Cup semi-final literally coming out of the ICU. He's standing tall out there today with an ailing back, cramping and hobbling, and smashing sixes over long-off.
Pakistan cricket has never known a warrior quite like Mohammad Rizwan 🇵🇰
We always suspected it, but now have confirmation that Babar was targeted by the PCB. Best interest of Pakistan cricket, they claimed. Turned out to be power moves, which was always the writing on the wall.
Translated:
I want to praise Saim Ayub but I'll also make it about India so I get more traction via hate across the border, and also via support from fellow trigger-happy compatriots.
Surya Kumar Yadav is considered to be the next big innovation in T20 cricket but Saim Ayub with his unconventional T20 shots will let the world forget Sky in near future.
#NZvPAK
I would pay top dollar to get Sushant Mehta and Shoaib Jatt in the same room, lock it, and play Babar Azam's match winning/saving knocks on repeat. Tempted to melt the keys too but not in favour of any human rights violations, of course 🥴
Proposals in Pakistani culture are so family driven, that even when you date someone for a while and introduce the families later, you don't actually get to go down on one knee etc.
So I did the next best thing. Fewer things I've been this certain about in life 🥰
Mohammad Nawaz has whacked both Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir out of the park in a
#BPL
game between Rangpur and Sylhet. Some nice little subplots at play here.
Three cheers for workload management. Play your first string team in dead rubbers and games vs Nepal. Play them whenever you can, in addition to franchise leagues.
We broke Naseem. This is a team management failure.
I'm livid.
Don't think Wahab should be too critical of Rauf's decision. He retired from Tests when Pakistan needed to tour Australia, ironically. Workload management is a very real conversation, and I back this decision by Haris.
Fun little anecdote from yesterday:
Nawaz almost copped one in the ribs, to which he said out loud: "Mohammad Nawaz, ruled out of the Test Series, because of injured ribs"
Everyone had a chuckle, after which he looked back at me and said: "Yaar video toh nai banayee iski?" 😂😂
4 key moments in Pakistan's bottle job:
1. Underutilising the powerplay
2. Rizwan's wicket (you see out at least the first delivery of a fresh Bumrah spell)
3. Imad wasting the Axar over (a matchup that favoured him)
4. Those 3 full tosses that Iftikhar & Imad missed out on
Pakistan's performance since Mohsin Naqvi became PCB chairman:
1. The Great Bonding Army camp
1. A 2-2 T20I stalemate vs NZ's D team at home
2. A T20I loss vs Ire
3. A T20I series loss vs Eng
4. First round exit at the T20 World Cup
5. First ever loss to Ban in a Test
He's been called a statpadder. He's been called selfish. Meanwhile, his teammate dispels any such notions, giving us a glimpse into Babar's brain. He makes mistakes, yes, and should be criticized for them, like any other human being, but deserves to be credited where it's due.
"Babar was telling me to take singles and doubles and to focus on playing a long innings. He said if risks are needed, he'll take them, because if I stayed there, they wouldn't be able to bowl the left-arm spinner, and we would disrupt their plans." – Fakhar Zaman

Shaun Tait was an assistant coach in this West Indian contingent. He was sacked by the PCB after some lean Tests at home, where surfaces were akin to graveyards for fast bowlers.
The pace attack was developing nicely under him, yet he was heavily scrutinized by Pakistan's media.
🗣️ "As a senior player, I wanted to take up the responsibility instead of sending a youngster."
Babar Azam explains why he batted at number 3.
#PAKvENG
So the players were training for the most part, and a few came up for photos, but during prayer time, I had the honour of joining all of them In congregation. Spot the Behram 🔎
At the start of the PSL, I thought Babar should let Saim and Haris open, because Pakistan's management had demoted him to bat at first drop.
Peshawar's skipper, however chose to make a statement in this PSL by that he should be the one to open the batting for the national team.
If you had told me in my youth that there will be a day where Pakistan's top 3 in ODI cricket will find themselves at positions 1, 2 and 5 in the batting charts, I would have flat out refused to take you seriously.
Fakhar Zaman is on the charge in the update ICC ODI Batting Rankings! 🔥
Pakistan's top 3 are all in the top 5 of the rankings. 🇵🇰

Yes, you can make a case that the army is the only institution that has remained organized over the years, but the fact that it has remained immune from accountability, has allowed higher ups to abuse that power to the detriment of this nation, stunting democracy as a result. 2/2
One thing is for certain, Rizzy Bhai gives a 120% in training, which is why he is always on top of his game, every time he steps on the field. A class act.
Thank you
@iMRizwanPak
for taking a photo with us! Your services for the flag do not go unnoticed 🇵🇰💚
Pakistani clout chasing sports journalist starter pack includes:
1. Hate for Babar/Rizwan/some other top performer
2. Making fun of India, one way or another
3. Showing extensive support towards a player past his prime
4. Regional bias
5. Disrespectful tone
6. Grammatical errors
Love love love the fact that Babar asked Rizwan to say a few words in Pushto as well. The way this team celebrates each other's success is one of the reasons why it draws so much buy in from the fans 🌟
Meet Arvind, who flew to Islamabad for a mutual friend's wedding, and vacationed with us in Hunza afterwards.
Born in America to Bangalorean parents, it was tricky for him to visit Pakistan. His family feared for his safety.
Back in Chicago now, Arvind is changing narratives 💚
I expect nothing less from the PCB at this point. Joke of an organisation, which would probably be better run if actual clowns are appointed in place of the current administrators.
Haris Rauf's involvement at the BBL is set to have a complication
Rauf's absence could disrupt the plans of Melbourne Stars, who signed the Pakistan quick as a marquee player:
This is the 1st ICC trophy India has won in 11 years, and the 2nd time they have been crowned champions in the T20 format.
To my Indian followers, a MASSIVE congratulations to you all ❤️💚
For every bigot, there are about 3 of you who shower me with love. This one's for you 🫵🏼
59 ball hundred for Babar Azam, in what is his final PSL game at the Gaddafi this season!
The crowd has gone ballistic here, and you can tell by Babar's celebration that this ton means an awful lot to him.
Classy, composed, and for the first time, unorthodox.
Top top knock 💯
Nationalism is a scam. The earlier you realise it the better. It is a tool used by nation states to build propaganda machines and control the masses, brushing its own ills under the rug, in the process.

Thank you for letting us in the caged area for photos Nawaz Bhai! You will get to see the clips on

shortly :)
As cricket fans, you can criticise the performance of players and their actions on the field. No one has the right to ridicule a player or their family, always respect their privacy. Criticise them for grouping in the team, for their friendships which has kept deserving players
Kamran Akmal gives an idea — "If you want to bring betterment in Pakistan Cricket, Make sure Pakistan does not win the remaining matches in the WorldCup."
#cwc23
I kid you not, from afar, when Haris Rauf bowls, it is legitimately difficult to spot the ball. That's how quick he is. Thank you
@HarisRauf14
for letting us take a picture with you, and for running hard, every single delivery. Your story is so so inspiring 💚🇵🇰
Shoaib Jatt is so so bad at his job.
Never talks about actual cricket, it's always something along the lines of "X ke saath zyaadti horahi hai", "Y aur Z aapas mein larr paray" or "Shadab Khan ko team mein nai hona chahiye"🫠
Man doesn't even know that Usman Khan keeps wicket.
This was Babar Azam's second PSL century overall, and he was the one who brought Arif Yaqoob on in the 19th over. If that move went south, certain segments of the media would have slammed the crap out of Babar.
Viv running out on to the field, celebrating with all that passion, is one of the great things about the PSL.
We've seen it time and again over the years, and it never, ever gets old.
Some segments of Pakistan cricket Twitter today:
"Great catch by Sarfaraz"
"Even better take this time by Saifi"
"That was not a missed stumping, just a really tough chance"
Bias is not attractive folks, and is easily identifiable. You're not doing Sarfaraz any favours.
We were speaking our minds, Wahab, and we're all stakeholders here with respect to Pakistan cricket. That is not spreading propaganda, but ensuring that some semblance of integrity is maintained. This is a win for everyone who raised their voices. Bravo 👏🏼
Wahab Riaz announces that Salman Butt will not be a consultant for selection.
Wahab Riaz: "Salman Butt isn't on any PCB panel. For me, he is a good cricketing mind who understands cricket and has been covering domestic cricket for the past 2-3 years. He was made my consultant
Surprised to see Babar cop so much criticism after scoring a 50. His third man play is elite. Missed his shot. Ball is keeping low. If this is the innings you choose to criticise him after, then maybe the problem lies with you.
When South Africa needed 30 in 30, and then 26 off 24, I did not see a world in which they did not win this final.
And yet, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh have ensured exactly that.
Best T20 World Cup final ever 🏆
I may not be the most religious person going around, but I believe in the power of prayer. My khaala is in the ICU, in critical condition, so please say a small dua for her speedy recovery. Thanks 🙏
