We asked for drones. They give us drones. They even gave us the drone show at a place where you didn’t need a ticket. Now people are celebrating the end of drones because the show was too popular?
Amidst all the news this week, I stand by our review of the Starcruiser. It was the single best Disney experience we’ve ever had as a family, period, and the single worst marketing failure I’ve ever seen. Lest you think my assessment is tainted by some loyalty to Disney as a
This is (1) why we pay our own way for Disney and DCL, so we can speak our mind; (2) why we donate any profits we might make from our show to charity; and (3) why we are proud to support

But if you work for an “independent” media outlet that has 100K or 1M+ readers, and you write something positive that you don’t actually believe, the question is: Who are you trying to help with this? Because it’s not consumers.
Genie+ will now be a day of purchase for *everyone*.
The "subject to availability" thing is 🤔
Pro to Genie+ being able to "sell out": shorter LLs, purchase feels more value
Con: Now you have to stay up until midnight to make sure you get Genie+ and wake up at 7 to book
We try to avoid politics on our show, but I need to be clear in the face of some truly ignorant posts I've seen from some in the Disney community today. My wife is Jewish. My son is Jewish. The people who attacked Israel would kill them on the spot just for being Jewish. If that
Since our account is getting a lot of added scrutiny, I just want to say we are two practicing lawyers and parents of a special needs child. We create free content to highlight the stories and experiences of other Disney cruise fans and occasionally feature our own travels. We
Big thanks to our listener, Mike, who shared this amazing photo of the Wonder in Sydney Harbor. He had a great vantage point from the spot where he was enjoying a first night Adventures by Disney dinner after disembarking the Wonder from the transpacific sailing earlier that
We recorded our first ever show in front of a live audience today on the Disney Magic in Animator’s Palate. We’re so grateful to
@DisneyCruise
for giving us this experience. We had a 40 person audience, took feedback on Lookout Cay from our listeners and also opened the floor to
The Disney Wish sitting pretty at Castaway Cay, August 10, 2023. Credit to our friend Rebecca for the initial photo from her parasailing trip. We made some edits to help her amazing photo be even more gorgeous.
Munich bound for our Adventures by Disney Christmas Markets river cruise that departs on Saturday. Really excited. But also looking forward to a nap on our overnight flight!
What about domestic airlines? Hotels? Theme parks? Many of which do not require vaccination, don't enforce masks, or require testing? Cruise lines require all three. Yet this is where we focus our efforts? This is nothing but theater.
CDC issues advisory urging all travelers — vaccinated and unvaccinated — to avoid cruise ship travel amid record-breaking Covid surge driven by the omicron variant.
We’re off to MCO to board our first
@RoyalCaribbean
cruise aboard the Independence of the Seas tomorrow. Time to experience RCCL first hand and how it stacks up against

You know what makes a disembarkation day better? Sailing back-to-back. Getting ready to embark on the second leg of our Very Merrytime cruises. Looking forward to spending Christmas Day at sea!
We’re on our way to the airport for our first trip to London since 2019, and our first sailing on the Magic to complete our Grand Slam and Fab Five!! Get ready to follow along. We have lots we can’t wait to share.

This one landed Apple in the middle of a DOJ investigation for anti-competitive practices to influence the labor market and limit opportunities for tech workers. Fun times.
CDC reporting requirement for cruises starts at 7 cases per 6500 (yellow). That’s .10% positivity. WHO standard for reopening is less than 5%. Florida is at 18%. Even with 50 sick cruise would be .7%. So, can we make sure we’re using the term “outbreak” correctly.
New: CDC is monitoring/investigating 86 cruise ships for COVID outbreaks (yellow alert level)
These include 4 Disney ships, 7 Celebrity, 9 Princess, 10 Norwegian and 17 Carnival branded ships

On our bonus show this week we were so lucky to have
@ScottGustin
on the show to chat all kinds of Disney Cruise Line news. Scott is an exceptional source of Disney news and a fun fan and pundit of the company. Loved hearing his thoughts on DCL. Don’t miss this episode.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall for the discussions of exactly how irreverent they let this character be. It's just amazing to see. Love every bit of it.
I don’t understand what people want from Disney? Compete with Universal and give us new rides. But never touch a single thing that exists in the park today, dare to change it in any way, or replace older IP with new IP that may be more relevant to today’s audience. Oh, and when
Lookout Cay was amazing. Across four visits in the last two weeks it only got better.
✅ The beaches are *stunning* on both sides of the island and better than Castaway.
✅ The cultural and entertainment aspects are a great addition.
✅ Our son and his friends loved the kids
While Nathan is at sleep away camp, we’re celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary with a pretty epic weekend at Disneyland. Staying at Grand Cal. Chef’s table at Napa Rose Sunday, and Club 33 dinner tomorrow.
Uhm. Considering people buy these non-stop, wouldn’t they just raise the price!?! Literally every fourth person at a park in cooler weather is wearing one.

Treasure sets sell for adventure with 7N Eastern and Western itinereries starting December 21, 2024. On sale to Castaway Club members starting September 12, 2023. General public on September 20, 2023.
This ranks as the best piece of mail we’ve ever gotten, save only for DCL luggage tags for our next cruise, of course. Thanks
@LenTesta
and
@TouringPlans
for this gem!!
23% positivity rate for COVID in California. Less than 1% for cruises. But yeah. Let’s focus on cruising. Perhaps we’re distracting from the real crisis with a manufactured one?
Today,

We’re a rollercoaster of emotions today. We’re disembarking the Wonder this morning. BUT, we’re getting right back on for a 5-night sailing with friends. Back-to-back sailing may be our new favorite thing 😜
Like clockwork. Disney Cruise Line announces news about the Adventure and out comes the hater brigade. No real details on venues, shows, food, or renderings of spaces. Yet, people are saying: “I’ll never sail on a ship that big.” “Who wants a floating mall.” While this ship isn’t
What a lovely surprise in our stateroom this evening. The merch here is actually really nice. What a great way to build some excitement for our call on Lookout Cay tomorrow.

Dear
@DisneyCruise
- continuing my campaign to move back to virtual muster. If one of the largest cruise lines in the world can do it successfully, I suspect you can also get it done. You even built the tech!! Would be one of the most popular upgrades for guest experience.
During my 10 years at Royal Caribbean I created and produced many productions (over 40) on ice, stage, water and in the air, and I developed and drove lots of new technology…
As a huge fan of the cruise industry, this is the idea that l’m most proud of:
Here’s the full list of the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Itineraries that
@DisneyCruise
announced today. Check out that 10-night in Australia over Christmas 2025!!
People who walk 5-10 miles in a Disney park in the Florida summer be like this over a 1/2 mile walk to a beach. 🤦♂️ (PS - there are golf carts for those who need them.)
But meanwhile movie theaters and concerts can continue? How about crowded indoor dining? Many cruise lines require vaccination. The difference, cruise lines are obligated to test and report. We’ve taken 4 cruises since the restart. Stop scapegoating the cruise industry.
Our warnings have proved sadly prescient & continuously compelling. Time for CDC & cruise lines to protect consumers & again pause—docking their ships. Cruises are repeating recent history as petri dishes of COVID infection.
If Universal does this right, it’s yet another source of pressure on DCL. Competition here could be really healthy for DCL. Force them to keep innovating. I can’t wait to see what Universal comes up with here.
There’s a place where you don’t have to worry about Lightning Lanes, Genie+, Multipasses, Virtual Queues or any of the rest of them, while still getting an unparalleled Disney experience - Disney Cruise Line. Want to learn more and get tips and tricks to make the most of your DCL
The Disney Treasure will set sell for adventure on December 21, 2024!! She’ll be sailing 7N Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral. Booking opens for Castaway Club members on September 12, 2023 and the general public on September 20, 2023.
And so it begins. This has been on my bucket list ever since I read
@davekoenig
’s Mouse Tales in high school in Orange County. Can’t believe we’re finally stepping through the door of the fabled Club 33.
A listener suggested posting our COVID experience on the Disney Wonder to help others. Several respected blogs have passed; not wanting to discourage people from cruising. We think people need more information not less. Help us share our experience!
Ignore the headline. The takeaway - the Disney Fantasy and Wonder received perfect scores from the CDC for cleanliness in June. Notably, the Wish and Magic also received perfect scores at their last inspection too.
Hi everyone!! We’re taking a pause on shows this week to focus on making family memories on our cruise. We hope you also get to spend time with family for the holiday. We’re so thankful for this fabulous Disney cruising community. We’ll be back next week!
Second stop at Lookout Cat today on the Disney Magic. Finally getting a chance to experience the gorgeous beaches. I also didn’t get to experience the food last time - it’s fantastic. They’ve still got some work to do on the flies, but they’ve taken steps that have reduced the
It’s been an early and exciting morning. We’re booked on the Maiden voyage of the Wish, with a back-to-back on the DVC cruise immediately following. That’s 8 magical nights on the Wish.
Disney Cruise Line has announced that Marvel Day at Sea will be returning to eight select 5-Night Bahamian and Western Caribbean sailings on the Disney Dream embarking between January 27 and March 15, 2025 from Ft. Lauderdale. No word yet on Pixar Day at Sea, or any return of
Five ships due in Nassau today. Only two made it, including the Disney Wish thanks to the expert navigating of the local pilots and Captain Marco. Nice to have some stable ground after all the rocking last night!
We have prided ourselves on building a positive community around our show and our travels. Lately this platform is anything but positive. I’m tired of having to deal with hateful comments over the most mundane of posts when we’re just trying to share some fun with our fans. We’ve
The bartender in the Concierge lounge asked vodka or gin for my martini. I said vodka and then joked, the right answer is one of each. This happened. I love DCL. And, am now totally hooked on Concierge.
