I just made the mistake of turning on the television. It immediately came to my attention that this is Superbowl Sunday. Thus far, the opening celebrations have consisted of 100% Black marching bands, dancers, and choruses ... not a White face in the bunch as far as I could see. The only White face I saw besides those of a few former pro quarterbacks and a couple of other ex-players was ...Lady Gaga's. Pro football is about 75 percent Black and 25% White (which is more White than pro basketball, all but just 17.5 percent of whose players are non-White). I feel like I'm watching a sports event in Africa, except that if I were in Africa, I'd probably be seeing no White faces at all. Despite living not too far from Kansas City, Missouri, I'll be shutting off the television. This is no good, folks - it isn't even an accurate reflection of the available US athletic talent. It's especially dismaying to see how many Whites are in the stands, eating it all up as they hoot and scream like good little PC-indoctrinated multiculturalists. This nation no longer feels like a place where any normal working-class White person has a home. It has been systematically alienated against its own culture, history, and majority population. I realize that some people regard this as an occasion for togetherness. I'm all for togetherness, and I readily admit that there are some very good Black athletes deserving of their places on professional sports teams. But this is not a normal or conscionable situation.
