This certification goes beyond the normal jurisdiction of ‘airspace’ of 60,000ft, and is coupled with a high-altitude license, issued by the NZ Space Agency. This is the first time a dual license has been issued, and paves the way towards our ultimate goal of flight to 100km!.

The engine upgrade will transform Mk-II from an aircraft with performance typical of a UAV, to performance more similar to the X-15 (dV = 1800m/s vs 1980m/s). Future upgrades will bring Mk-II performance to over 2500 m/s delta V & enable flights from sea level to 100km+ altitude.
