The writing in 5e modules has been bad for a while now.
They’re reliant on surface-level concepts that *seem* cool but never have any depth. They’re scared to say/do anything profound with their stories.
Strahd was good because it challenged the player, not just the character.

Rewatch the first movie, it’s so jarring.
Scott is just a normal guy, kinda moody. He’s not an idiot (remember the vault door scene?), he’s just a chill dude surrounded by supergeniuses and the script made him the punchline, so he was flanderized for the rest of the MCU.
