For those criticizing this, this statement is completely orthodox. Catholics hope and pray that hell is empty in the end but believe it’s a possibility for any individual. It’s God’s will that all should be saved, so of course we should pray/hope His will be done.

I think you’re right it is heresy to say it is definitely empty (universalism) but it is not heresy to hope and pray and hold it as a possibility, a fairly common view. The catechism even says directly that we “pray in hope that all men shall be saved.”

My wife & I just spent our anniversary in downtown Raleigh, where we were married. We were shocked at how unsafe & run down it all was. Such a change. Other NC cities are experiencing similar problems (Asheville, Durham..). The problems (& solutions) seem pretty obvious.
We have spent the last year reenvisioning the future of downtown. We need positive foot traffic, more events and a commitment to public safety. If we lose RedHat, we lose the future of downtown.

The progressive argument that "times have changed" so we need to get rid of free speech/self-defense/gender/etc only works if you agree with them that it's good (or possible) for humanity to move away from our nature and towards a design of our own.

Few people were walking around Fayetteville St on a Saturday but many homeless panhandlers. We walked down to City Market area & ate at a sushi restaurant. A man, clearly on drugs, kept trying to talk to us through the window, then came inside to ask for money as we were eating.

people, were you aware that we have the lowest percentage use of gas stoves in the nation, with 90% electric? Almost looks like gas stoves are a blue-state thing.

Looks like the ACLU has fired their NC lobbyist, Kristie Puckett-Williams, after controversy over her profane social media rants. Other activists are not happy, including Emancipate NC, who said they will reconsider partnering with the ACLU.
