Not to sound utterly defeated but why should I get excited about new Star Wars shows if the worst people on the internet are going to get them canceled
Toxic fandoms have grown so powerful that while talent, executives and publicists privately bemoan the issue, fear of triggering another backlash kept several studios from speaking for this story.
Putting herself out there knowing she’ll get attacked for it and doing it anyway gets so much respect from me. I hope this prompts more to speak out on their platforms.
Jodie Turner-Smith blasts Disney for not defending

“They’ve got to stop doing this thing where they don’t say anything when people are getting fucking dog-piled on the internet with racism and bullshit. It’s just not fair to not say anything. It’s really
“It wasn’t racism, it was the ~ratings~” is a weak argument because the loudest haters were the racist misogynists encouraging people to trash this show but whatever
I just want another Star Wars trilogy I and I don’t care if it’s going to make people angry, I just want to feel that excitement between the films again
To the fans that felt reconnected to Star Wars again, to the point that THEY BOUGHT TICKETS TO CELEBRATION—you deserve to have media that represents you and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
i finally did The Last Jedi planets as cocktails! 🍸
thank you
@rianjohnson
for your beautiful planetary creations. i put a lot of thought into what each drink would be made of (see thread).
unpopular opinion but TFA relied heavily on OT nostalgia and while it’s an enjoyable watch, it doesn’t compare to The Last Jedi’s ability to stand on its own without the support of prior films.
I know we’ve made the Qimir/Moon + Sol/Sun comparisons but wanted to add that the moons on Brendok that become “one” during the accession ceremony are the “O” in the Acolyte logo which—
A few friendly reminders to people making assumptions about

Natural redhead here. If getting rid of the red hair is what it takes to start seeing better representation for little princesses out there, then I’m completely on board.
What better way to celebrate the anniversary of

Women in Star Wars have to work twice as hard just to contribute to fandom for free, while knowing in the back of their heads that a man is going to inevitably make it an unsafe space for them.
Love seeing women ridiculed for fantasizing about Vader/Kylo/whoever and yet men are allowed to continue to fetishize Carrie’s slave outfit when she’s made it explicitly clear she HATED wearing it and how it went against everything she believed in.
i’m urging you to remember that Biden may not be the candidate you want, and he may not support your personal platforms. but he’s better than what we have. PLEASE VOTE! WE CAN’T HAVE FOUR MORE YEARS OF THIS!
Rey going with Finn because he’s a BeTtEr PeRsOn just perpetuates the misogynistic expectation that being a “good guy” means you deserve to “win” the girl. Surprise! We enjoy choosing too!
