Voice ACTING
not voice RANGING
Many pro voice actors use their regular voices or a slight variation
This stigma of "Oh he doesn't change his voice so he isn't voice acting" needs to die
I need to hear more of Keanu. But so far I'm not impressed. It's literally just Keanu. No effort to put on some sort of voice. This is why I hate hollywood actors as these roles.
The story of Priyanjali Gupta, the engineering student who built an AI model that translates American Sign language (ASL) into English instantly.

@minccinobro
Seeing them as a role model is completely fine actually.
Being supportive is completely fine.
Putting them in a pedestal like they are above being human is not okay.
@BreitbartNews
"wants you to pay money to go see his new movie"
Bruh, Thats how movies work no matter the actor or movie lol
These comments are entertaning though
So today I find out a coworker was into anime.
I tell him Im a voice actor.
He's then goes on a a rant about how dub has no emotion and doesn't need to change lines from the Japanese sub.
He then says "bro just quit. Dub sucks."
Dude was chill before. He lost points with me
Voice actors.
I'm gonna make a list of people who want to do hobby work, fan projects, and passion projects and low budget projects to help out content creators.
Leave your info in the comments along with a demo if you have it.
Look. I get wanting to be more careful of public figures who are Zionist.
But for the love of fuck, DON'T fucking accuse people using flimsy at best evidence. Cuz there is a possibility you're wrong and harassed someone who did nothing wrong.
Yo
#VoiceActors
with less than 1000 followers, share your demos below. Or if you don’t have one share and example of your work.
Tis the season of giving, let’s help each other grow and network.
Psssst hey folks
I'm casting for an original Webtoon project.
Voice Actors. Leave your demos below
If you dont have a demo leave a voice sample!
If chosen I'll send a DM to ya :)
Not getting roles or VA work?
Make your own!
An audio drama, a comic dub, a monolog, hell even a small game.
Not only will it help VA. It'll also help you learn skills outside voice acting
Video editing, directing, casting, project management, plus you can help fellow VAS to
Don’t go into voice acting thinking you’re gonna get famous right off the bat.
Some get bigger faster than others, we all have our own journeys.
Also don’t go into it if your just looking for money, do it because you love it, because there are many times when you rake it in
So...people are saying this sonic movie is gonna be a franchise killer.... hmmm....didn’t stop Mario, didn’t stop Dragon Ball, didn’t stop street fighter, didn’t atop resident evil.
Why is the sonic movie the one thing that’s gonna kill an entire franchise? That’s stupid
News flash to those younger than 30
Your life DOES NOT stop in your 30s.
You do NOT need to give up hobbies you enjoy.
Watch anime, Play video games, skateboard. All of it.
I'm 32. I voice act anime and cartoon styled characters.
The only way life stops is if you stop it
@Yoshiko_VT
Correct
While having a range is very good you gotta be able to act with it too.
If you can do both like many can? Awesome
If you have vocal range but can't act, then there's something wrong that needs worked on
Voice acting while having ADHD is hard
One minute you'll wanna record.
The next? You're sitting there playing games instead.
Your brain screaming at you to do things
But also stopping you from doing said things.
Making you feel awful.
Our brains are our own worst enemies.
So I saw a video the other day saying you can't be a voice actor with a USB mic.
Yes you can.
Voice acting isn't just huge commercials, anime or AAA games.
Indie devs, small animators, small companies all need it as well and almost all are okay with USB.
I hate the stigma
Don’t befriend your fellow VAs just to later throw them away because you got to the one you wanted to be friends with to use for clout.
Actually, don’t do that in general. People aren’t your stepping stones.
I’ve had this happen before, it’s a shitty feeling. Don’t be that guy
Yo voice actors. You don’t have to constantly post about voice acting, talk about other things you love, post some memes, show people the real you behind the mic.
You also don’t have to post constantly. Work at your own pace. Post at your own pace. Everything’s gonna be okay
Sooo I just got some awesome news.
I was approached by
@AwesomeFoxStud1
And i'll be the
#voiceactor
of Hiiro in thier game called Hiiro ro Hero!
Its gonna be a 2D game in the style of Megaman ZX
I love game like that, And now I get to voice IN one! I'm super excited!
Ayo VOICE ACTORS
are there any other Demisexual VAs out there?
I haven't met many other than like....maybe 5 people.
Also whoever made this gif is amazing
Folks If you're gonna be a voice actor i'm gonna say this
Get used to rejection
Get used to rejection emails or just pure silence
But do not let that stop you if you truly want to do it
One rejection now could lead to a role down the road. It has for me.
keep going
Directors... PLEASE give you VAs context for they're recording.
People will notice when a line is lacking or sounds weird
You won't get a great performance if your VAs don't know the context
I was told to quit voice acting because of my limited range.
Here we are a few years later, I’m a lead in a video game, I’m in two animation series, a multimedia character, another game.
And that’s just since mid 2019. And I’ve been at it since 2011.
Keep goin. You got this
It's okay to make friends.
Hell in this community its encouraged.
But two things
1. Do not FORCE friendship. Let it happen naturally. Talk to the person. Get to know them
2. Do not befriend someone just for connections or because you think they can help you with your career
Am I one of the only people who is cool with rejection emails?
To me that lets me know they actually listened to what I sent and cared enough to contact me.
That means i'm on their radar now. Which can lead to even more things in the future.
Thats just me.
Folks if you wanna start voice acting then just do it.
I started out with and still do fan content. Including making my own. No acting background, No classes. I just did it. And i think im doing okay. You dont need a demo till later on.
There is no one way to start.
I'm gonna put this out there.
Not everyone you see being positive on here is fake or doing it just to get interactions.
There are genuine people. Just as there are fake people.
For many of us, Who you see on the internet is the person you would meet IRL.
That goes both ways
as of late I’ve been seeing love for only two specific VA’s, and they do deserve said love
But I’m seeing a lot of people feeling left out or alienated.
So let’s spread some alittle more evenly
Shout out someone you love or admire in the community. Cause all of you are amazing
@genemaxwell41
What a terrible take.
She didn’t ask for her number to be put out there, random ass people Dox popular people all the time.
Also.....young millennial? Dude most millennials grew up with phonebooks.
You don’t have a voice for VAing?that’s wrong.
Everyone has a unique voice. Even you.
The range comes with practice. The acting comes with practice.
If you wanna do it go for it!
I started out with zero talent. And now here I am. Also take classes if you can.
@D4N13l101
I mean this doesnt have to do with that.
Shit like this was gonna happen regardless because companies love to penny pinch any way they can while trying to make the most profit.
Stuffs been happening since before the whole localizer thing
@gotbannedx3
@paperbackofeli
Bro some of them don’t shower all weekend cause they keep going and going
It sometimes feels like going through a fish market.but worse
Guys. Can we not treat new VAs like children please?
We were all new at one point. And I’ve seen a few people insulting newbies.
Don’t insult, help them learn and grow.
That’s what I do
Criticism is important. As voice actors and content creators were always trying to get better. Sometimes we need constructive criticism. If someone tells you POLITELY that they’ve found things wrong hear them out and use that to improve. Don’t just toss it away.
Friendship doesn't mean talking all the time or hanging out every day.
If they're there for you when you need it and vise versa, if you guys can go months or even years without talking but talk again and it feels like no time has passed... that's friendship.
We need remote recording to come back. So many people cannot move to bigger cities or new states for a multitude of reasons.
We all deserve a fair chance.
I may have moved to Dallas in d and plan to return next year, but it was by the skin of my teeth.
Not everyone can do so
Anime and game fans.
Lemme say this.
The voice actors are not the characters they voice. Just because someone records a character doing bad things does not mean that reflects on the actors personality. Some of you need to learn to seperate the actor from the character
So, friendos, I really really need help,
I need to be out of this apartment by September, which means my move to Texas needs to happen.
Please help share this around. Or commission me.
I need to make this move happen.

No, but if a variety of a voice actor's role is just them speaking in same-voice everytime, that's not a good "actor" just someone with a nice voice, and this is the sane standard that's been applied to actors as well. "Just being you" isn't what makes a good actor, simply put.
Calling out problematic behavior isn’t drama. Drama is petty stuff like fighting over mics. Calling it drama is downplaying the people who have been hurt.
That’s the last thing I’m gonna say on what’s transpired the past couple days,
