@Grant_Jenkins After spending literally my whole adult life fighting oppressive regimes across the globe. It’s hard not to see the same patterns forming here, it’s becoming pretty concerning and we are just willingly giving away our freedom and our choices.

@Grant_Jenkins I think it would help if our primary schools didn’t resemble academic sweat shops. Some great research on the benefits of increasing free play in primary schools on every metric as well as children’s physical, mental and social development

@DavidGJoyce @mart1buch Looks like a really interesting read. I’ll definitely grab a copy and it’s great to see people openly sharing experiences. Thanks for contributing Dave

@NickWinkelman I think to advance this one more step to improve transfer of training is to integrate contextually relevant threats or pressure both internal and external to develop the cognitive factors and information filtering of the visual system under pressure.

@CoolHandJakeGS How good is it? If you like that, read The Liberator by Alex Kershaw. Disappointingly it was released as a cartoon. The only audiobook I’ve listened to multiple times in a row. I use it as context for the trivial shit that I have to negotiate in my life.

In the absence of any legitimate threat, your focus can quickly turn to the perceived threat of social exclusion. It’s important to utilise your resources to connect rather than to compare. #fearless #GrowthHacking #resilience

Trying to avoid discomfort and stress by removing threats from your life won’t bring happiness. It just reduces your capacity to tolerate stress and exposes you when a legitimate threat turns up, making your discomfort even worse. #stressrelief #resilience #GrowthMindset

@CoolHandJakeGS I wonder if it’s not so much, a definitive max but more of a maximal range with a normal range of deviation and some days it just deviates outside the norm. Just thinking out loud.

@Grant_Jenkins Well said, I think that probably applies to any domain. The best leaders/mentors I ever had consistently worked hard to adapt faster than everyone else. The person leading the charge is often the first attacked, so they have also had a tonne of courage!

@CoolHandJakeGS There is some interesting stats coming out of Sweden, who took a completely different approach. Each country obviously has its own considerations but their results are worth looking at.
