Still feel the Named Person provision was sabotaged for political reasons. Sure there were issues, but the broad principle was good. In a better country maybe parties could've collaborated to produce something workable instead of undermining the policy to the point of no return.

I do worry all these "people are seeing the benefits of working from home" posts are going to be used to justify not reopening offices. There are pluses, but it's harder to separate your working + non-working life. I'm not sure that will be great for mental health.

This criticism of the Sunday Times piece - "Oh, we knew that already" - is misplaced. We knew it instinctively, and we had some evidence of course, but what good journalism does is to pin it down, to lay out every detail out so there is no mistake, no wriggling off the hook.

Realise this has been talked about all day but it really is shocking that the framing + leaking of the Grenfell report puts all the emphasis on fire brigade failings. At every stage, blame has been deflected from the gov + many journalists seem willing to go along with this.
