Here is graphic video of the assault on the older Asian woman by a black male suspect in NYC. The building security who witnessed the attack did not help her. They closed the door.
"Philadelphia mascots are no strangers to allegations of physical attacks. The Phillie Phanatic was 'the most-sued mascot in the majors' ... for claims ranging from injuring a woman’s knees while climbing through the stands to hugging someone too hard."
A NJ cop began having sex w/a minor after responding to her suicide attempt, traded nude pics w/her and got her pregnant. He's still a cop. Police records in NJ are private, so the public never learns abt these cases unless they end w/an arrest or lawsuit.
NJ will not cooperate with states looking to criminalize patients who get abortions here or providers who perform abortions on out-of-state patients here. Murphy: "Your body belongs to you."
Murphy signed that OPRA bill today and now I’ve been stranded at Newark Penn Station for the past hour … bc public transit is underfunded probably? Idk why. New Jersey is failing me today.
This couple used this iconic photo as their Christmas card (without paying the photog 😡) - but now are suing over it. I hope UPI and the photographer fight this lawsuit to death.

NJ has 54 crisis pregnancy centers, but many are religious ministries that masquerade as abortion clinics. As more women visit NJ for abortions from states where it's restricted/banned, lawmakers want to ban deceptive marketing by CPCs. via

There are a whole lot of cops who responded to this incident of a man in mental crisis barricaded in his bathroom, most of whom were dressed for war, with guns drawn and pointed even as they cajoled him to come out of the bathroom.

Often, publishers push veteran journalists, with their higher paychecks, out the door first. With them goes their institutional knowledge, historical perspective, and expertise earned over time.

MUST ADD 2 things: Photographers among the hardest hit in this era when everyone thinks all you need to take a good picture is an iPhone and a photo-filtering app. (So wrong-headed. Professional photogs can't be beat.)
Court fight reveals absurdity of claims about N.J.'s public records law — "The chief problem with OPRA is not that it buries clerks under mountains of requests; it’s that officials abuse the law when they don’t feel like releasing records to the public."
NJ Senate votes for Nicholas Scutari as Senate Prez. Sen. Nia Gill, who wanted the job, abstained, saying it’s long past time for someone other than a white man to lead. She criticized the behind-closed-doors vote’s lack of transparency.

Bridget Jones. She had multiple men interested in/desiring her, even though her weight was a theme throughout (which was annoying bc she was only a smidge bigger than the average skinnie-minnie movie actress).
Today kicks off Sunshine Week! So naturally, in New Jersey where the open records law is already among the worst in the nation, lawmakers will spend today trying to pass new restrictions on public records that watchdogs warn will gut the law.
There is no justice for defendants who are poor. This is a great story on the ridiculous caseloads many public defenders carry. Defendants consequently get a fraction of the legal defense they deserve, and that can have lifelong impact.
