Saturday we laid my baby sister JoAnne Marie to rest. She was only 56. Her death was sudden and unexpected. JoAnne was a profoundly good and gentle person. There is no doubt she is in heaven with our mom and dad. Thank you for all of your prayers.

In our family every day is law enforcement appreciation day. My dad Ray Caplis worked some of the toughest streets in Chicago for decades. Mom took this picture in front of the house one day as dad left for work. It was very cool growing up with a dad everyone admired.
