A sincere narration on the MSSN OAU and mosque closure saga. I was a Muslim student at OAU from 2012-2016 and I'm still a student from 2021-present. I can give you accounts based on my firsthand experience. #Thread

@JayRod212 @Gamers_Outlet Lol they changed the community notes. The first one read "They have not been verified by X to do nothing". Tell me is that's grammatically correct.

Stop stoking tensions, face your religion. We will not fall for your power-mongering and be tools of your political ambitions!

Marginalisation of yoruba Muslims who made up of 70% of Yoruba populations will come to an end soon with the help of sharia laws in yoruba land. Yoruba Muslims can’t be the 70% population of yourubas and they’re being marginalised. Enough is enough. Yoruba Muslims wake up🤔

Yoruba Muslims are NOT kicking anything. You and your group have a political agenda and are only using Islam as your platform. Stop using Islam for your power-mongering, the prophet rejected such!

Yoruba is a race, not a religion. As long as I'm Yoruba from a kingly lineage, I can become a king. As for the YMF or whatever they call themselves, they don't represent Islam, they are fighting for political power just using Islam as cover. Islam rejects such practices.

It’s ironic how Muslims & Christians are fighting over a traditional throne that is rooted in Yoruba Traditional Religion. The throne of Oduduwa was established on Yoruba Spirituality, so why are you all competing for it? You guys don’t know who you really are.

You are a goat. Why would you set a Qur'an ablaze in the first place. We don't need all of you coming out to defend Yoruba Muslims. We know exactly what you are.

You can set ablaze the Qu'ran in Lagos and Yoruba Muslims will not lose their humanity. They might be angry and feel offended alright, but they will not go and unleash mayhem by destroying properties and taking numerous lives in the process. Deborah would still be alive today if she had done what she did as a student in Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Lagos, or even some parts of Kwara. When talking about tolerance, SW is way out of your league and all these orchestrated attempts to rile up the populace against themselves would fail. Throw all you want all because of politics, our hard-earned education would always kick in and moderate our reactions to all your shenanigans.

He said SW Muslims are oppressed, yet everyone who's bashing him is a NON-MUSLIM. Of course, some non-practicing Muslims too, as usual. I laugh in Arabic!! Where did he lie??? Don't you guys call us fanatics? Don't you guys try to pressure our women into uncovering??

The greatest lie ever told is that the southwest is tolerant & accepts every religion. This is both a fallacy & a myth. It is a fallacy in the sense that it is meant to mislead many into believing such, whereas the events of the day always point to the opposite. It is a myth because that false belief is widely held but events that happen always say otherwise. Typically, a Yoruba Muslim experiences the steepest resistance when he or she chooses to exercise his or her own religion according to the dictates of the religion. They'd be termed fanatics, Islamists or fundamentalists. The only tolerance is when they choose to be only Muslims by name, the "I am a Muslim, but...." or those that aid the ideology of Kufr spread regardless of how that affects Islam. In its true definition, RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE should mean, serve your own and allow me serve mine without hating or disrupting, while peacefully co-existing. I must not throw away mine to be a tolerant one, because I won't expect you to throw yours if truly you're an adherent of the religion you proclaim. You also cannot define my religion for me, just the way I can't define yours for you. Islam is what it is because of practice not just verbal proclamation. If you'd spend your entire life shouting "I am a Muslim", yet you don't practice it, you're wasting your time. Every Muslim reserves the right to practice his or her own choice of religion, just as the constitution is what gave every other person the rights to practice theirs. Let's embrace tolerance, based on the concept of "Be and let me be". Dey your dey, make I dey my dey. Serve what you choose, and how, and allow me serve mine and how my religion dictates. No Nigerian is more Nigerian that another; North to South, East to West.

You are actually against the Sharia law, but used the other supposed statement to poison the conversation. Sharia law is exactly what an Arab/Muslim country be governed by.
