It was pitched to Dreamworks in 2002 but to our knowledge, it never got further than that.

In the early 2000s, SEGA produced several pieces of Sonic goods for use at promotional events. These included mascot costumes, as well as PROMOTIONAL CHAO PLUSHES!
That Dark Chao plush was the only official one until TOMY released theirs in 2018.

During the late 2000s, 4Kids released a variety of print-out papercrafts based off of their licenses. These are the ones they released for Sonic X. While the 4Kids site is long gone, you can still find their PDFs online.

We finally got our first look at the new Kidrobot Sonic blind box figures! They look super stylized and cute, but still accurate.
The second picture is from Toy Fair 2019, showing an earlier line up compared to the final character choices.

It's true, there's an official Bonzi Buddy plush. It was manufactured by BD&A, and was released in 2001 as a reward for BonziBUDDY Gold Membership users. He's amazing.

At IAAPA this year, Toy Factory showed off their Sonic plush line! Amy, who was first shown off in 2017, is finally being released. There's also a special variant Sonic. Besides that, it's basically more of the same. Hopefully we see their Sonic movie plushes next year as well!

GE recently added this plush to their website - an emoji-styled 7" Eggman plush! While cute, I hope they announce some new standard styled plushes to go with their older 12" line soon.
This makes two novelty plushes of characters who don't have normal ones - this and Ball Tails.
