This whole Bridget situation is like if your favorite YouTuber has made a big point about “If I ever say something good about Raid Shadow Legends, fucking kill me” for the entire history of the channel, then suddenly Raid sponsors him and he becomes a Raid Let’s-Player.

* demanded that minors on Omegle twerk for her so that she can flash them her tits
* stalked her critic to intimidate him by showing up to his house at night
Why are you defending this bitch?
@EspeonSeal
“Trap culture” advanced trans rights by popularizing the notion that the way you dress and act has no bearing on your gender identity.
Bridget’s retcon set back trans rights by like a couple decades by throwing that in the trash.
@Beanie74962285
@liddle_lefty
When the alternative is “I’m a trans girl because my parents forced me to be a girl when I was a boy”, is that even any better?
@00DaniPonie
@gwynopossum
Crossdressing is not a trans thing. By making it a trans thing, you are enforcing binary gender norms, and therefore, you are a transphobe.
@SorenNation
Egg theory is the belief that posits that all feminine boys and masculine girls are in fact transgender, and that people should coax them into coming out as such. It is frowned upon for reinforcing gender norms and dictating others’ identity.
THAT’S the problem, not femboys.
@oxlie0104
@DimitriMonroeZ
The Paradox of Tolerance: Tolerance of intolerance leads to intolerance of tolerance. Therefore, intolerance must not be tolerated.
Bridget’s transwashing is based on intolerance (TERF argument that “parents are turning their sons into trans daughters”) and the gender binary.
@Excalibur2343
@iuntue
As if Daisuke weren’t on record multiple times as saying that he made Bridget with the express purpose of making the token cute character a boy because a token cute girl is trite.
@lumen3h
As a trans woman, your attitude that invalidates characters who are feminine boys is bigoted because it is gender binarist. You are gatekeeping gender expression on the basis of gender identity by insisting that all feminine people become “transed”.
@DraikenTalkos
A translator’s job is to preserve the original wording.
A localizer’s job is to transfer the original intent, and if impossible, find a parallel that works in context.
A censor’s job is to make moral judgments for others and cut out content.
The first two are not censors.

@G_Yuu_FemBoi
The only “hate mob” here is the mob of Amerian cultural colonists who believe that all Japanese media is barbaric and vulgar, so they have no qualms about bulldozing authorial intent to break it beyond recognition with outdated memes and extremist politics.
Basically: OK, Nazi.
@LubbaSMG2
Trans women cannot be femboys. Being a femboy necessitates identifying as male, which trans women do not. Calling a trans woman ‘femboy’ is one of the oldest tricks in the misgendering book.
Bad take, OP.
@fateCEOavi
>there is a MASSIVE difference between guro and gore
The difference being guro is in Japanese and gore is in English. That’s the only difference
@thepiecan
Yeah you tell those cissies to conform to the gender binary and transition already! Conversion therapy has always worked and has never been one of the main reasons why the gay rights movement started! /s
@PRlNCESS_TRUNKS
@GiveMeBanHammer
Westerners don’t need to gatekeep Japanese squatters because the Japanese actually respect the source material and recognize the different culture it hails from.
And if we wanted a Japanized Wild West movie, we’d watch Seven Samurai, BBC’s “best non-English film of all time”.
@EmberTalksTTV
“Bridget deniers”? You mean the people who deny the rich backstory of Bridget being forced to be a woman all his life despite identifying as a man? Or the people who don’t deny the lore and see Strive’s Bridget for the transphobic bullshit it is?
@00DaniPonie
@gwynopossum
You say so, yet you consider Chihiro Fujisaki, Astolfo, Felix Argyle, Bridget, and other femboys to be transgender just because they are feminine boys.
Tomboys and femboys’ existence and struggles do not have to have anything to do with trans people to be valid.

@MildGoofening
✌Slowly✌: 1 game IRL and at most 5 months in-universe, after about 2 decades IRL and about the same in-universe
✌Developed✌: in the complete opposite direction of his previous story, invalidating it entirely, introducing grooming connotations

>everytime she says shes a boy shes apprehensive about it. Saying it in a negative tone clearly being uncomfortable
Imagine having so little media literacy that you can’t see the obvious conclusion that he is losing confidence in his ability to pass as male, not your delusion.
@iuntue
What are you on about? I live in Japan and this is pretty much how the “multipurpose restrooms” are laid out (minus the color inversion). A door leading to a bunch of stalls for men, another for women, and one big restroom “for anyone” including the physically disabled.
@DimitriMonroeZ
I edited the “motivated reasoning” image and coined the hashtag

! It’s extremely disheartening that the vocal majority of the “trans community” can’t understand that femboys exist and are not a threat, so try to invade them. It’s like how Putin sees NATO.

If you have played any GG game prior to Strive that featured Bridget, you would see that Bridget “coming out as a girl” is the wrong interpretation, because that would entirely invalidate his backstory, motivations, and lessons learned. Daisuke’s attempted retcon is transphobic.

Coup de grâce:
•In the perfect ending in Strive, upon seeing Ky’s resolve to stay true to his inner self (human) regardless of his outer looks (Gear), Bridget also resolves to stay true to his inner self (man) regardless of his outer looks (girl).
@AFatMasoCat
That’s a boy who wants to prove himself as a man.
He wants to break the shackles of his forced female upbringing, and here you are chaining him back into his trauma.
Shame. On. You.

Reminder:
•Bridget was born a boy, but assigned a female upbringing
•He has repeatedly asserted that he is a boy, he wants to be masculine, and similar.
•He has never expressed joy of any sort when being mistaken for a girl.

More reminders:
•His last (mainline) appearance ended in a cliffhanger where he switches from a gender-neutral 1PS pronoun *uchi* to a masc. 1PS pronoun *boku*.
•He says “girl is fine” a grand total of once, nothing compared to the “I’m a boy”s.
East Asians have a ton of self hate for their own features and portray themselves as white looking and that is why white people are so attracted to anime because the characters look like then even tho they are not white/them. Naruto and Sailor Moon are examples of that phenomenon
@DemianDraws2744
Brisket child gender grooming icon! Yaaaas, parents should force their kids through transition so that they’ll discover their gender naturally when they’re older! Trans rights to decide your kids’ gender are human rights!

You see a feminine boy whose joke is on the reader for confusing him with a girl, and you shout “fetish”.
You see a “trans girl” with exaggerated futanari proportions, and you shout “representation”.
You have less consistency than spring water.
> Ishiwatari then followed up with his own take. “[...] at the very least [video games] should not be in violation of global standards of compliance.”
Bad thing for you to say after denying that you groomed Bridget to be trans for idpol.

There’s no contradiction in the statement “It’s lucky that it’s not stated in the game, because if it were, it would be grooming”.
