Our sophomores have been hard at work creating set design, costume design, social media/advertising campaigns, or casting for Arthur Miller's "The Crucible." They will present their ideas to the Seattle Opera's artistic team, receiving professional feedback. #creative #drama

Today, Geometry students braved the cold to head to Sculpture Park in order to sketch perspectives of the sculptures. This allowed us to extend our work on centroids of triangles to complex polygons.

This week was a great time to hold an observation night with DTS Astronomy & Advanced Physics students. We got a good look at Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, the Orion Nebula, the double cluster and the Andromeda Galaxy!

Seniors in a seminar on "The Chosen One" selected titles from nearly 30 global books on the theme, "the chosen one." They pitched a series idea to a fictional streaming service, emulating "Shark Tank" elevator pitches. They even leveraged AI to create engaging posters!

A huge hats-off to our ASB for organizing grade-level potlucks during community time today! Students brought in and shared all manner of treats: pizza, mac and cheese, cupcakes, donuts, Doritos, flavored water, and fruit. What a fun way to connect with the #community!

Can you write a sentence that has a comma splice? That is a fused sentence? Or maybe one that makes use of unclear pronouns? And then can you fix others' sentences that have these issues? That was our task in English class: target clarity by identifying barriers to clarity!

Humanities at DTS rely heavily upon testing ideas and analyzing (linguistic) evidence. Class discussions center around listening and Socratic questioning: Why do you think that? What evidence supports that idea? Are there any assumptions behind your assertion? #clarityofthought

Today, our juniors and seniors heard from an alumni panel of recent graduates. The alumni shared insights on managing high school to college transitions, workloads, schedules, sports, and friendships. A key takeaway was, "Wherever you end up, you'll be just fine." 🫶

Physics is everywhere! From the movement of the #planets, to the forces behind amusement park rides, you can't escape the laws of #motion: inertia, action-reaction, and #force and #acceleration. Do you who came up with these laws?

This past Friday and Saturday, Drama Club delivered two stellar productions of the one-act plays "Trifles," by Susan Glaspell; and "All or Muffin," by our very own Annabelle P. ('26). The houses were full each night, and the plays were well received by all. #theater
