The interest rate cut will help ease cost of living pressures, but I am still not satisfied with the growth rate. That’s why we are going further and faster for growth, taking on the blockers and ripping up unnecessary regulatory barriers, to get more money in people's pockets.

Britain cannot afford to keep importing fiscally negative immigrants. In fact we need to undo some of the damage of record rates of immigration in recent years. So this is very welcome - an important policy commitment.
