Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50, chaired today the first meeting of the Committee on Improving Government Efficiency, constituted by the Prime Minister. The committee, after detailed deliberations, established sub-groups on digitization, global best practices, performance appraisal, rewards & MIS. DPM/FM directed the sub-groups to proceed swiftly in collaboration with all the stakeholders and recommend practical steps for the Government to improve efficacy, effectiveness and outcomes for the people of Pakistan. #Govt Efficiency #Reforms

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50, held a meeting with Chief Executive Officer at e& life and e& international, Khalifa Al Shamsi in Dubai. Chief Operations Officer e& International, Khaled Hegazy and officials from Pakistan side were present during the meeting. Highlighting Pakistan’s conducive investment policies, the Deputy Prime Minister invited e& to make further investment in the country’s telecom sector. Khalifa Al Shamsi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to foster a business-friendly climate and acknowledged the country’s importance as a growing market in the region.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 chaired the meeting on reforming the power sector. The meeting was attended by Ministers of Power, EAD, MoS Finance, SAPM on Power, Secretary Finance, Secretary Power, Chairman FBR and senior officers of other relevant departments . The meeting reviewed the proposals presented by Ministries of Power & Finance.

Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, @MIshaqDar50 chaired the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Inter Governmental Commercial Transactions Act (CCIGCT) . Participants included members of the Committee, the Minister for Petroleum and Minister for Privatisation besides Federal Secretaries of various Ministries and Divisions. CCIGCT was briefed on the upcoming transaction(s) to be undertaken under the Inter Governmental Commercial Transactions Act, 2022 with foreign government(s). DPM directed the concerned ministries to complete all pre-requisites before entering into formal negotiations as per provisions of the Inter Governmental Commercial Transactions Act, 2022. Emphasized complete disclosure and transparency  in carrying out transactions with entities nominated by the Foreign Governments.

DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 chaired a first meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Essential/Cash Crops. Meeting was attended by Ministers of Food Security, Planning and EAD, Federal Secretaries of Ministries of Food Security and Commerce and other high officials. DPM/FM was briefed by the Ministry of Food Security about the Cash Crops in Pakistan. He directed that concerned authorities to conduct a holistic and scientific study of production, collection and preservation of stocks of the cash crops particularly of wheat. He further instructed that all Provincial Secretaries of Food and Agriculture including those of GB and AJK be made part of this Committee as special invitees for all future deliberations/decisions.

DPM/FM Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 chaired the meeting on power tariff reforms. Meeting was attended by Ministers of Power, EAD and MoS for Finance & Power, Federal Secretaries of Ministries of Finance, Power, Petroleum and other relevant officials. Various options to provide relief to consumers were deliberated. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in the coming week.
