🌟The New York Times: A Tale of Two Presidencies🌟 My friend, ever the news aficionado, signed up for the New York Times, expecting a straightforward account of our leaders' words and deeds. And what he got was a study in journalistic contrast, especially when it comes to the presidencies of Biden and Trump. During Biden's term, which wrapped up just last month, the Times was notably... let's say, 'selectively silent'. Corrections, clarifications, or retractions from the White House? Barely a whisper in the digital winds. You'd think Biden's words were set in stone. But enter Trump's ongoing term, and oh, what a difference! Suddenly, the Gaza story has the Times on high alert. My friend's inbox was flooded - not one, not two, but more than THREE emails, with two 'Breaking News!' alerts in a single day, all dedicated to the White House staff walking back Trump's statements on Gaza. It's as if the Times has a special 'Trump Correction Radar', tuned to catch every retraction, every 'clarification'. Where was this zeal during Biden's tenure? If news reporting were a game, we'd call this 'Selective Spotlighting'. So, here's to my friend for highlighting this journalistic journey from silence to saturation. It seems in the world of news, when it comes to Trump, especially on Gaza, no correction is too small to ignore, but with Biden, the silence was the loudest story of all. Keep those emails coming, NY Times, for we're all watching - or should I say, reading between the lines.
