Tufts playing away from home against RIT, Christopher Newport, Stevens and Union all in a 10 day period in March. Can’t wait to see the Salisbury parallel schedule, likely against the Sisters of the Poor and Berry…both at Seagull Stadium.

And they return their whole close D, their LSMs (including a ‘23 AA who was injured and out for the second half of season and the tourney), two fogos who each took 300+ draws and their Senior goalie is coming back for a 5th year.

Assuming nobody transfers out, in 2025 @TuftsLacrosse will bring back their Top 8 scorers from the 2024 season In any year, the reigning national champion will always be a favorite going into the next season but bringing back that much talent on offense is scary stuff

@BobbyCLx1 @ConnorWilsonLAS @jordiebarstool @dkaplan46 @cabney02 Salisbury had already caught Hobart and sent them to D1 with a loss. They would have quickly become just another contender in D3. Not a lot of depth in the division in the 80s and the NESCAC’s weren’t allowed into the NCAAs (league rule) until 1996.

After what they graduated in ‘23, Tufts steamrolls to the title (27, 27, 16, 19, 18 goals in tourney). Congrats to @CoachDAnnolfo, Tufts joins short list w’ Hobart and Cortland to have 2 different coaches win it. In an (ending) era of grad students Tufts is so young. Buckle up.

RT @T_Lax_1: Curiosity got the best of me. I looked into the roster sizes for Sweet 16 teams. W&L & Tufts were in the middle of the pack i…

Tufts v. RIT, the Tape: Have met 6x in the Final Four (Tufts leads 4-2) Twice in the Quarterfinals (1-1 split) And…RIT beat Tufts in regular season this year at Mustang Classic. Have never met in the National Championship. 2nd time in three years it’s an all North Final.

Whispers all year about Salisbury’s schedule being sneaky weak. They played zero games against the Top-9 in the Laxpower ratings. Season is now over and they still haven’t played one. Gutsy by W&L, down 8-1 early and the far better team the rest of the way. They made the leap!

Bowdoin becomes the 5th different NESCAC school to make the Final Four in the last 15 seasons. RIT awaits, who have made it this far 4 straight years.

NCAA Quick Hits Part 2: NESCAC- 3 teams left. Guaranteed at least one Final Four spot W&L- Familiar spot to last year. Excellent season but at some point the Generals need to make the leap and slay the giant Salisbury v. Tufts- Game 7, at Seagull Stadium, is it inevitable?

NCAA Quick Hits: SJF- A true Cinderella CNU- underwhelming year but a pathway to Philly exists Centennial- how many more bad NCAAs will it take for this conf. to stop being viewed as upper tier? Liberty- Poor, 3/4 out. But still hosting next weekend and RIT one of the favorites

Christopher Newport run off the field at home by another NESCAC team, Williams, 18-12. CNU firmly on the bubble for the NCAAs, if the Salisbury games don’t go their way they need to beat W&L to have a shot. Tough spot for a Grad heavy team that will completely turnover next year.

Casey Ryan, Bowdoin lacrosse freshman from La Jolla has become the focal point last two games for the Polar Bears and has responded with 6g, 2a at Conn College and 6g, 5a at MIT tonight. Those numbers are worth watching. @laxreference

Big night for the Liberty League with three wins over the NESCAC, all by one or two goals, Union-Williams, RPI-Midd, Skidmore-Trinity. These will pay dividends on Selection Sunday.

@CNULacrosse if goal was to just roll the ball out and see if you can compete with Tufts, I guess okay, lesson learned. Otherwise, suspect gameplan. Really unimpressed with CNU, flashy but undisciplined close, average Dmidfield and fogo and their stars on O struggle with pressure

Bello thoughts: @TuftsLacrosse clearly read the headlines about their down year. They are young and not as deep as last year but with the athleticism and size they have on D they’ll be fine as long as they continue to overwhelm teams with aggressiveness. Transition is deadly.

When Virginia plays Ohio State this weekend, the Cavs leading scorer Jack Boyden (@TuftsLacrosse) and OSU’s 2nd leading scorer Ben Mayer (York) are both D3 transfers. Jack’s Tufts teammate Kurt Bruun is 4th in points for the Buckeyes.

@cdmarshall98 That’s fine, check back in a month. It won’t work. He also had 3 assists, and yes he’ll occasionally turn it over.
