UPDATE: Work moving the 3000-tonne, 180-metre long bridge structure into place as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project, is well ahead of schedule. It's expected Main South Road will be fully reopened by 6am Sunday 26 Nov, 24 hours ahead of schedule. Thank you for your patience.

Four local SA street artists have been busy at Hove station during the Seaford line partial closures revitalising the 100m long wall with new, colourful murals. Organised by Rail Care, the aim is to reduce graffiti and make the station more appealing. Check them out!

Please stay safe and drive to conditions on our roads tonight. This uprooted tree on Brighton Rd, Glenelg was 1 of many trees and branches cut down across Adelaide's road network by this afternoon's storm. There have also been reports of fallen powerlines and water over roads.

DARLINGTON UPGRADE PROJECT - UPDATE .Work to install the 3,000 tonne bridge as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project has been completed well ahead of schedule. Main South Road and the Southern Expressway are now open to traffic.

We’re excited to announce that a hybrid+ design is the preferred option for the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project. A hybrid+ design will see a combination of tunnels, lowered and ground-level motorways, and overpasses/underpasses at key intersections.

Last spring, our Rail Care team organised a new garden filled with native plants at Marino Rocks Railway Station. Now, a local species of small shrub, Goodenia albiflora, is blooming with attractive white flowers which attract pollinators such as butterflies and other insects.

Concrete pavement works are in progress on the Northern Connector Project with approx 5kms already paved for the State’s first major concrete road. The pavement requires approx 175,000 cubic/m of concrete, produced on-site, with the cement & quarry products sourced locally in SA.

The new Oaklands Railway Station opens 6 May, with train services resuming on Seaford & Tonsley lines. Project works will continue. Station access will change as works progress. Vehicle parking available on Murray Tce, Crozier Tce, Railway Tce and in temp car park next to Coles.

The superload travelling from Victoria to Torrens Island has now reached Overland Corner. The 390 tonne electrical transformer will depart again tomorrow about 7:15am for Shea-Oak Log via Goyder Hwy to Morgan, Murraylands Rd to Blanchetown and Sturt Hwy. @SAPoliceNews

Due to fires in Western Australia on the Eyre Highway, the WA/SA border is closed at Border Village on the SA side, and 300km west of the border on the WA side. There are currently no access for any vehicles past these points.

Two tram level crossings will be removed creating safer and faster journeys through Marion Rd & Cross Rd for commuters who use public transport, walk or cycleπŸš‰. Congestion at these crossings cause major delays for road users, particularly throughout morning and afternoon peaks.

Happy 21st Birthday to the Heysen Tunnels!!!!!!. On Sun, 5 Mar 2000, the Heysen Tunnels were officially opened to traffic. In 1998, the tunnels were excavated through a steep hill. The 500m long twin tube road tunnels were part of the $151m Adelaide to Crafers Highway Project.

Did you know that our Rail Care program organises the installation of wildlife boxes in rail corridors? A recent check of boxes along the Belair line found that all 16 had been used in the last 12 months. They provide an alternative habitat for hollow-dependant native fauna.

The Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation project has removed overhead line equipment, rail tracks, sleepers, ballast, earth material & started demolition of the old station. New track has been laid & the new station construction is continuing, ready for opening on Mon 6 May.

The Northern Connector is now fully open to traffic!. A reminder, the 6 lane motorway will have a posted speed limit of 80km/h for the first few weeks to enable driver familiarisation & completion of testing. The Southern Interchange will be reduced to 60km/h for driver safety.

The Northern Connector will open to traffic from Saturday morning, 7 March. The six-lane motorway will have a posted speed limit of 80km/h for the first few weeks and the Southern Interchange will be reduced to 60km/h. Finishing works will also continue.

The new Waterloo Corner Interchange overpass was opened to traffic Tuesday morning 26 March. It’s a significant milestone for the Northern Connector project, delivering a major road safety boost for the St Kilda area.

Darlington Upgrade Project - Main South Rd, Bedford Pk has reopened to traffic with two lanes operating for both northbound and southbound traffic. The Main South Rd entry/exit to Southern Expy remains closed but is expected to open to traffic by tomorrow morning’s peak period.

Pedestrian safety has been improved by installing safety bollards on Diagonal Rd, in front of Glenelg Primary School. School is back this week - Make sure you drive no faster than 25km/h in school zones & at crossings with flags/flashing lights when children are present.

Three local street artists have been hard at work lately to bring colour to signal boxes at Seacliff, Marino Rocks and Glanville train stations as part of our Rail Care program. Rail Care art projects not only brighten up our stations but also aim to reduce graffiti.

Due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, the Horrocks Highway has been closed south of Wilmington at the bridge over Spring Creek. The closure includes the temporary road diversion recently set up to allow works underway to replace the bridge.

The new Ayliffes Rd bridge being constructed as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project is now a complete structure, following the installation of the remaining 2 girders for the southern half of the structure. The bridge is 377m long & is scheduled to open to traffic mid 2019.

A pedestrian/cyclist overpass spanning 57m over Nth-Sth Mwy & Sth Rd surface roads was installed last wknd as part of the Regency Rd to Pym St Project. The overpass is scheduled to open in the coming months and was built at Bowhill Engineering before being transported to site

The first centre span has been transported from Polonia Reserve to its final location over Regency Road using Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs). The SPMTs move at a speed of around 100m per hour.
