🔴🟡 Exactly 1 year after arriving in Ames, I’m leaving Iowa State. Matt took a punt on a guy in 2018. A couple of wins, some half-decent goalkeepers, 2 schools, 2 states, and countless memories made; I’m forever indebted to him for his trust and belief!

📖: I’ve spent much of the time we’ve been on planes this year reading about different pedagogical approaches. The importance of immediate feedback has become apparent! Our group of 4 had been going out before practice and working on ball striking of their own volition [cont ➡️]

We learned a lot from season 1 to season 2! But the biggest; Language is key.
We had a plan, our team bought in, and our HC protected time in the week for us to spend both on film & on the grass, reinforcing principles & creating belief.

I've been fortunate to work with head coaches who are incredibly accommodating. I wanted to maximize time on the grass, so had an extra line painted, moved a goal back and ran a GK session in the rest period between team phases.
