Congrats, Hermano. This is awesome!
Found out The Seventh Floor made the Sunday Times list…what a tremendous honor. Huge thanks to the incredible team at @_SwiftPress, and especially to all the readers who made this possible through the highly questionable decision to purchase one of my books!

Latest review... what are you reading? ASSASSINS ANONYMOUS by Rob Hart This is a strait up banger. ASSASSINS ANONYMOUS is not what you might expect and more than you could have hoped for. It’s a compelling emotional journey in a story with a driving pace that will keep you up reading well past your bedtime as you savor every word. One could be forgiven for thinking this is another military/espionage thriller. Once you learn it’s a story about a professional assassin, that is where the mind goes. In fact, it’s not. If anything, it’s more of the criminal subgenre of thrillers, but that is not the point. It’s a human story of a flawed protagonist who, believing he’s hit rock bottom, endeavors to make amends for his past—only to discover he has a fair amount of digging to do. ASSASSINS ANONYMOUS is an adrenaline-fueled romp with a frenetic pace that doesn’t shy away from playing with (and mocking) the stereotypes of the “assassin” trope while delivering a fresh narrative that touches the human experience. More than mere sentimentality, it’s redemptive narrative that grapples with morality, while it drags the reader kicking and screaming to a powerful conclusion. Absolutely loved this book. You will too.

Not sure I can endorse Bond's drinking habits, but THE SEVENTH FLOOR by @mccloskeybooks reigns supreme.
If you pre order a copy of The Seventh Floor thru @Waterstones at the link below you’re entered to win a nights stay and rations of delightful jet fuel martinis at @DUKESHOTEL, old Fleming hangout and site of inspiration for Bonds drinking habits. Highly recommended!

Latest review... what are you reading? WE DEFY by Jack Murphy @JackMurphyRGR WE DEFY: THE LOST CHAPTERS OF SPECIAL FORCES HISTORY is a stand-out and worthy of your time. While a ‘history’, it is tightly written and will appeal to a broader audience, to include aficionados of the military thriller genre. But unlike a fictional thriller, it’s real. WE DEFY is not a heavy lift and I read most of it over a single weekend. Unlike many other military histories, it doesn’t focus on a specific mission, battle or campaign, nor does it reexamine the history of the U.S. Army Special Forces as has been covered extensively elsewhere. WE DEFY is special in that regard. It fills in the gaps of those rumored missions that folks in the community whisper of with awe and reverence. Stories that until now have largely been passed on as tribal lore. Now you get to know the rest of the story. Jack Murphy brings to life several critical missions from the Cold War that are of keen interest to the military historian. Blue Light, a counterterrorism mission that predates 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta (1st SFOD-D), as well as the Commander’s In-extremis Force, a mission that lasted through the 1990s. The first chapter, focused on Special Forces Detachment A, adds worthy texture to James Stejskal’s SPECIAL FORCES BERLIN and the second chapter on Special Forces Detachment Korea, an element that exists to this day, is a capability that is too frequently missed. Personally, I found the last chapter focused on Green Light to be particularly eye-opening as it covers a mission few know anything about—the Special Forces capability of inserting Special Atomic Demolition Munitions (SADM) covertly behind enemy lines via military freefall insertion. As a younger man, I recall long runs and rucks along Chicken Road on what was once called Fort Bragg and one of my mates pointing out “that building” where the Green Light teams trained. While I still can’t fathom jumping something that big and heavy from a perfectly good aircraft, it’s humbling to know we once walked in the shadow of giants. Jack Murphy… thank you for writing this.

While you might not be remembered for your achievements while President, you were one of the finest, one of the last true Statesmen to hold that office. Your contributions to society can not be measured. Above all, you were a good man, noble and true, following a higher path for the good of all mankind. Fair winds and traveling seas. Rest easy.

Latest review... what are you reading? COLD TRAIL by Taylor Moore @97_taylormoore If you’re bummed out that Yellowstone has ended and hankering for more in the modern western genre, you need to check out the Garrett Kohl series, and its latest installment—COLD TRAIL. Taylor Moore once more delivers with his signature blend of adrenaline-thrill ride, family in crisis, and of course, more than a dash of espionage. It’s all of that and more. The fourth installment in the Garrett Kohl saga delivers more thrills and new antagonists. More than elevated drama on the high plains, Taylor Moore takes the reader back to Afghanistan in a daring mission to find Faraz, the older brother of the adopted Asadi Kohl, and reunite the two brothers. That’s the beauty of Moore’s storytelling; more than driving action, it’s a flesh and blood story about family that pulls at the heart strings—even when the adrenaline has your heart racing. Short version, if you’re pining for more Yellowstone, get over it. It’s not happening. So pull on your boots, head out and buy a copy of COLD TRAIL today. Then brew a pot of coffee and settle in. Trust me, you’re going to love it.

Latest review... what are you reading? A WARRIOR’S PATH by Steve Stratton @strattonbooks Origin stories are a treat and A WARRIOR’S PATH is an unrelenting page turner. It is everything you expect in the military genre – an attention to detail in weapons, tactics, procedures – and everything you need in a thriller. The narrative is compelling, tracing the protagonist’s path as a trouble teen destined to a rocky path, to that of an elite soldier. A novella, it provides tantalizing background to his established hero—Lance Bear Wolf—from Stratton’s SHADOW TIER series, a Native American and Army Special Forces soldier. An aspect of A WARRIOR’S PATH that jumps out is the spartan style of Stratton’s writing, spare and focused, sharp as a knife’s blade. It’s driving pace and lack of superlatives and literary clutter that allows Stratton to cover a journey of nearly two decades with aplomb. More than this, the authenticity is excellent. For readers who served in the special operations community during that era, Stratton more than gets the details right. He nails them. It’s a stroll down memory lane. Truly well written, blending seamlessly with his prior works, SHADOW TIER and SHADOW SANCTION. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in the series.
