Don't know you at all. Hope this isn't a bother. My wife and I lost our baby in 2020. It was the most hard moment of my entire life. We both sobbed for days, our hearts were broken. Its okay to grieve, its okay to feel sadness, its okay to never feel okay about it. Sending Love!

My dad passed away last night. I was in shock most of the night. My dad was my best buddy, we had many great times together. Always supportive, always a loving father. Suicide is never the option. I love him. I'll never be the same without him. Rest in Peace Mark Lotz.

The fact that a guy like Joel Haver can make a feature film and bypass literally every asshole critic and dumb wannabe film academic and make boundless amounts of cash while getting fantastic reviews from the public is the reason stuff like folk filmmaking will take off.

Good movie.. Then it goes on for another hour of tediousness. Never have I wanted to scream at an editor more. We get the point and then it hammers on and on and on and on and on the exact same point.
‘EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE’ is the highest rated film on Letterboxd in 2022.

Nah I’d much rather not let it dominate my life and I’m someone who generally wears masks and follows the law but I haven’t looked at the news or statistics since like April or may. I’m tired of it and I’m happier not focusing on it.

Seeing yourself and your best friend animated in a space adventure cartoon is one of the coolest experiences ever. I may never get to direct/be in star wars but this feels pretty dang sweet. Joel Haver does fantastic work you should check this one out.

People on the internet rarely know what's going on with someone on a personal level. I lost my daughter, got divorced, lost my grandfather, and my father committed suicide. All in a 3 year span. Be kind and understanding.

Thread about suicide TW* 10 months ago my dad killed himself. It look my will to live. I wanted to die. I'd consider suicide basically any time it was possible to feasibly pull it off. Most nights driving by the train tracks, I figured that was a good way to end it all.

I honestly think the next big sci fi/space opera/super hero/popcorn flick is gonna come from the indie/underground. The stuff being made in mainstream culture is so fucking bad. It's left a giant hole open for indie filmmakers to make the next "star wars."

This new folk filmmaking wave of filmmakers are honestly getting more and more devoid of ego and content with just making and releasing stuff. It's a very healthy way to live, make movies when you can, live your life, perhaps you'll make money doing it, perhaps you wont.

I made a feature film that features a 41 minute unbroken take. The movie is called "One Shot" its a reservoir dogs style crime film set entirely in a getaway van as our protagonists escape a botched heist. The film is entirely free on youtube!

Why do I call making movies on youtube/free Folk Filmmaking? Cause Saying "I make movies for free and distribute them on youtube" sounds about a deflating as a popped balloon. Folk filmmaking gives a simple easy to use calling card so we can all find each other. ❤️❤️❤️

I feel so proud of myself. In 2020 I released 2 movies to great success. In 2021 I released 3 movies to great success. The Long Con, Watch Me As I Go, and Pure Cinema were so much fun to make/release this year. 2022 is gonna be bright!

My uncle died and I just found out. He was a pretty awesome guy who was one of the few relatives I truly connected with on a personal level. RIP and hope he’s in a better place. Love you uncle Dennis.

Just make a movie is the best advice ever if you wanna get into film and weeds out anyone too lazy to figure it out. No one said it would be easy.
Advice like "Just go make a movie" is like saying, "Just go write the best script anyone's ever read" ...What, like it's hard?! As if iPhones, editing software, a Crew, craft services, film fest submissions & everything else is just FREE & takes no time at all! Ughhh.
