I secretly thought about this, but Arenado and Cubs just don’t fit on the same phrase. Realistically, I don’t think the Cubs would be interested in Nolan Arenado and vice-versa.
I’m not saying just spend money to spend it, but I am saying shift back to the Padres/Mariners in the trade market. Sign Justin Turner. Heck if you can get the Cardinals to eat a large sample of that contract, Arenado is worth a conversation and would be a great mentor to Shaw

I absolutely DON’T blame the Cubs for not paying Bregman $40 million a year. They have many other reasons to be called a “small-market team”, but passing on Bregman at that price is not of them. Let’s sign Justin Turner and move on.
