Hard to disagree with any of those points. BTC has never been - and likely never will be - the societal disruptor it was originally envisioned to be. While it started as a revolutionary concept aimed at decentralization and financial freedom, the reality is that it has been co-opted by institutional players and high-net-worth individuals, consolidating power in ways that directly contradict its founding principles. I place much of the blame on the current crop of BTC developers, who have been asleep at the wheel, allowing figures like Michael Saylor and major Wall Street firms to accumulate massive holdings, effectively turning Bitcoin into a digital asset controlled by a financial elite rather than the people. Instead of focusing on true decentralization and accessibility, they have enabled a system where a handful of entities wield disproportionate influence over the network. There’s no way Satoshi would have approved of this, nor is it in line with Bitcoin’s original mission. BTC had the potential to be a game-changer for society, but without meaningful course correction, it risks becoming just another tool of the existing financial system rather than a challenge to it.
