If something happened back in August, you don't say "oh 5 months ago" you say August This is why Month > Day in terms of focus For long term sorting though, Y/M/D is best

@rygel_spkb Sorting makes sense when it's General --> Specific --> Broad October 5th, 1985 over The 5th of October, 1985 If you're looking for a document from October, you can look for ones that start with a "10" - whereas the other format tells you nothing relevant till the 2nd number
